Not only do I love the old design - I prefer it. That's why mine has been ordered and I'm waiting patiently for my BTO matte screen 17" to arrive. You also get more ports, a design that isn't in its first revision, and a high-definition screen standard, though I'd assume the high-definition screen will come standard on the updated 17" as well. If you like the old design - buy it. If you like the old design and have patience - wait until the new one comes out, and buy this from a store for a likely heavily discounted price.

I agree with you

I currently have a good price on one with a discount i can get from a store here in the UK

I can get one for £1.749 which is nice compared to £1.949 their offering

And they have fw 400 too so thats all good!

seriously? of course this machine is still great man! I am about to pick one up myself😎

😀

in my opinion

I think its more 'PRO' than the new ones

I just wanted to make sure because im thinking about getting it

Is it still a good machine? Yes. Is it preferable? Well, personal preference. For me, no. I replaced a 2.6GHz 17" hi-res matte with a new 15" 2.8GHz. I personally love the new form factor, keyboard, and screen. So it all depends on your wants and needs.
