Fetching, indeed! It's that touch of class that separates the MR Fantasy League from the pack.
I trust you've just stuck your head in here during a short break in getting The Stoplights registered for the new season? ;)

Meanwhile, in more serious news - are Hull City being re-branded by stealth? We think that we are, and suffice to say we're not very happy about it at all.

Does anyone in this thread want to buy a certain want away striker? He plays well for you until he gets fed up and feels like he needs an ambitious move away from your club?

It looks like PSV sold Kevin Strootman to AS Roma. PSV will be able replace him, for a comparable player.

Wilfried Bony from Vitesse to Swansea City, Vitesse will never be able to replace him, he was the only reason that Vitesse climbed to third place in the Eredivisie.

I am a bit behind the news facts at the moment as I'm mid way trough my trip to the USA. WiFi in the smaller towns along I 90 is not always great.
Just catching up on news from home.
Current place of staying The Mammoth Hotel In Yellowstone National Park.

Are you saying Bony is worth a punt re Fantasy Football?

Rooney; 10m + Luiz, Luiz :D Got to hand it to Chelsea.

10m + Mata; the only reason to reject it is you know 100% you'll get 20m + Mata.

Cheers,
OW

I'd have said Mata + cash for Rooney was a good deal (depending on the cash offer of course)

Not quiet exactly the news you were looking for, but the Netherlands Women football team will very certainly not make it to the knock-out phase, due to goal difference. It didn't look so from the beginning, this tournament! They did play surprisingly well, but teams in other groups had more luck (which is a pity seeing how they have significantly improved).
Germany will very surely be out after the first knock-out phase (against mid-class Italy), too, though ;) Germany played 0:0 vs the Netherlands, 3:0 against Iceland, that is known for being weak (more goals were possible) and lost 0:1 vs Norway (first time in 20 years!), yesterday. (Could elaborate about guessing why Germany is historically bad this time, but I will spare all of you :D I wonder, if psychology is really that of a big deal here, just because they are so young)

So, I went on a little shopping trip earlier...

Welcome! I hope my fellow citizens are behaving themselves (unlikely). Where are you headed?

Women's football has truly come on leaps and bounds from an English perspective, as our ladies prove they're on a par with their male counterparts. They're just as bloody useless.

Some sad news - Manchester City's legendary goalkeeper Bert Trautmann has died at the age of 89. He's arguably most famous for playing the 1956 FA Cup Final with a broken neck, but that's just one aspect of a rather remarkable life and career.

"There have only been two world-class goalkeepers. One was Lev Yashin, the other was the German boy who played in Manchester – Trautmann."

Trautmann's story is one of my favorite football biographies, RIP Bert [Bernd] Trautmann. We talk about legends who play these days, but none of them can measure up to the life stories of many past footballers who led interesting lives and never made mega-millions.

I got to say, I liked the men at the last Euro Cup and found that there was a rise compare to previous tournaments of the last years (sine about 2004), though.

Germany's bad appearance in the group phase has now been declared president's issue, it seems. The former and the present DFB-president, both will come to Sweden and speak with the players and be present at the 1/4-final to "show their support". Wonder, if it is marketing or if they really care.

For those who care, BEWARE tomorrows match starts at 15 o'clock swedish time! (Sweden-Iceland: I want to see, if Sweden can handle it, if overcoming the midfield is not the problem, but a defense wall is).

Denmark made it to the 1/4-final by lot, because they were equal with Russia in points and goal difference. I like seeing Denmark progress and want to see them play like they played against Sweden again.

I have just heard via the Dutch world Service.

FC Twente have sold Leroy Fer to Norwich FC, and that now Nacer Chadli is going to Tottenham.

If I heard this right FC Groningen have hired Krisztain Adorjan from Liverpool for the comming season.

There are going to be a lot of new faces in the Eredivisie.

I to also heard the news about the death of Bert Trautmann, another legend gone.:(

Thanks for the interest Lord BlackAdder

I left the Netherlands on the 6 July stayed 3 days in Chicago, On the evening of the 8 July I was in a sports bar and everybody was watching Cubs play the White Soxs, they all tried to explain the game to me, but everybody was very friendly. Saw Wrigley Field, the Sky Deck on the Willis Tower, did the Boat ride around Chicago and rode the Loop. Then via the I90 west. I had booked the Mammoth Hotel for the 16 July for 5days, the days in between I just stayed where I felt like. I have already seen the Badlands, Deadwood, Crazy Horse statue, and Mt Rushmore. I have just finished 5 days in Yellowstone, Bears Bison Wolves and Deer, and of course Old Faithful, but for me the Grand Prismantic Spring was with out a doubt the most beautiful. I shot so many photos and film that I had to re stock on flash cards.

To day I start north to Canada Medicine Hat then on to Calgary to visit family. I will spend some time driving in the Rocky mountains, if you come from one of the flattest places on earth mountains have a great fasination.:p

I will then travel to Vancouver I'm booked into a hotel on the 29 July. From Vancouver I will eventually travel south to Seattle I have a hotel booked for the 11 August, I am due to fly back to the Netherland on the 14 August.

LordBlackAdder as with all the other 6 holidays that I have spent in your fantastic country, your population have shown me nothing but the greatest hospitality.:)

Sorry I nearly forgot to answer your query.

Wilfried Bony was the perfect striker for the Dutch system of counter football. He has good pace and can hold his own against multiple defenders, has a very cool head when in front of goal. It was his goals alone which insured that Vitesse finished third this season. If he can do the same against teams in the EPL will have to be seen.

I do hope that this has been of some help.

Bony's move has been held up by work permit problems - both clubs are confident that it'll go through but the process has been rather slow. Apparently the lad's still training with Vitesse until the matter's resolved.

That sounds like a wonderful trip! Here in Ohio we have a reputation for being flatlanders, but the Netherlands is even flatter...I have to say, the one thing I miss about Alaska are the mountains. They never ceased to amaze me.

Thank goodness. Fortunately, we are not all like the Americans one sees in movies and on the news. :D

Women's Euro

Halftime:
Denmark is surprisingly 1:0 ahead of a prior to this match seen very superior France. Denmark plays football! Nice passing and tactics. Not a minute of boredom, yet.
