Just as i thought. Allianz Arena is not a fortress against Europe's top teams. Real 5-0 winners in the end. Could easily have scored 4 more over the 2 legs. Bayern wretched and lackadaisical. Tiki-taka not effective against Europe's finest. And Hynckes record stays intact.

Bundesliga has probably made Bayern complacent/weaker. Hungover from having won the league title very early on.

Regardless of the competition, regardless of the opposition: Anyone But Chelsea.

Real Madrid are a much more acceptable proposition now that the Dark Lord has moved back to West London. Hell, even Ronaldo is looking less repulsive these days.

I know it is wrong to laugh at anothers misfortune, but for Bayern I'll make an exception.:D:D:D:D

Totally out played, and at home as well. :D:D:D

Hard to feel sad for Bayern. I was forced to watch Robben weep with joy after the last final; I think I like to watch him wail and gnash his teeth better. ;)

If Pep can't be more flexible in his approach to the game, he may find management outside Barca a rather bumpy road. Bayern's players will revolt against the system, much like Real's players did against Mou. Madridistas will take extreme pleasure in his fall from grace.

I'd love to see Atleti make the final but they won't. Real can't defend worth a damn at times, and Chelsea will park the bus again. I hope people start truly getting fed up with that...(still bitter, I know. ). This might not be a fun final for me to watch.

Watch out, Ribery will give you a slap.

Pep; warned by the Vidic goal and he knew Bayern were facing Ronaldo and Bale on the counter - not Grant Holt.:) Does he have the players to play his way? And even then, aren't the top opposition wiser now? If he keeps seeing defeat despite two thirds or more possession, surely he will look to another way as an option.

Just for you:

Cheers,
OW

I'm praying Athletico do a job on Chelsea tonight. I want a Madrid final cos it'll be explosive. Rather than another park the bus vs pacey attacks. Nick it 1-0 and "i'm back to The Happy One...my team were fantastic"

*shudder*

Just wait a bit, the same scene will be playing itself out in about a month. :(

EDIT: Boy was I wrong!!! And happy for it as well. A perfect night for Atleti, Torres gets a token goal but Atletico sweep Chelsea aside in their own house. Romance isn't quite dead yet.

Suck on every molecule of that, Mou.:)

Take notes, Brendan.

Haha. Blackadder heavily invested in that defeat.

Many Liverpool fans are ecstatic about that result. Even Jose Enrique had a dig at Mou. Some Arsenal fans too.

Why he placed Hazard in LB i don't know. His bias against Ashley Cole is getting ridiculous.

Also panicked and sent on an extra striker too early which opened the game up. And that suited Athleti perfectly.

He met his match in Simeone, whose team also knows how to defend VERY well, in addition to having a deadly forward.

Madrid derby final it is. Can't wait.

Looks like the trophy cabinet at Stamford Bridge will be empty this season.

Simeone faced him down Clint Eastwood-style, and Mourinho blinked. Chelsea will win nothing this season, which is a small consolation.

Real fans may have mixed feelings - which team would they have rather faced? Mou's Chelsea, a chance to stick it to their unloved ex-manager, or local and eternal rivals Atletico?

To night was a great night for real football fans everywhere, the special one(Mr anti-football) got his arse handed to him on a plate.
One of the truly negative teams in top European football got humiliated, oh boy am I a really happybunny tonight.

Some?!??

Despite everything that's happened since I still haven't fully recovered from the 1991 FA Cup semifinal, which I'm prepared to concede isn't *quite* as significant as the impending match in Lisbon. I can't think of anything more horrific than losing to your neighbouring team in a Champions League final.

Its always someone else's fault from ref to weather. Hazard has apparently diagnosed the real problem. That and as mentioned above, the specialist blinked first.

Meanwhile, i present to you Arsenal's rumoured 2014/2015 Puma kit.

Big news for us Yanks: the Centennary Copa América will be hosted by the US and will include the USA and Mexico plus two additional CONCACAF teams.

I hope some of the games will be played near me in the midwest so I can attend a match. I need to clear my calendar in June 2016. :)

Meanwhile, fun fact of the day; Athleti's entire starting XI yesterday cost £20m less than Fernando Torres.

They are a selling club. Just think of the total transfer figures commanded by many ex-Atleti players.

Why does everybody refer to them as Athleti?

A simple anglicization of El Atléti, one of the club's nicknames. I call them Atleti for short, which is incorrect but convenient for my English keyboard. ;)

Hm, I'm not sure as long as they get payed... Maybe players like Lahm, Neuer and Kroos will nag or grumble in front of TV cameras after matches a little bit, but I don't think that will have an influence. Also, Matthias Sammer will then say they don't have the right to do that and will make something up about the big plan that Pep has and no one understands, because the whole world, but Sammer and Bayern is so stupid.
(Btw. on Sammer, I find what Klopp said fits Sammer's appearance very well. He said: "every morning he wakes up, he must thank god, that someone at Bayern took him and gave him something to do".)

What I wonder, is, why does Guardiola not bring Götze earlier. Everytime Götze came on, he and Müller had good chances immediately.

Also, I find Alaba really shone in the last matches (back and upfront).

Boateng seems to one more fullfill the clichee, that if something goes wrong (same as in the national team) it is him being involved. hough I don't want to overemphasize it, but it came to my head during the play.

I wonder what Gotze thinks of his new role. At Dortmund he was a guaranteed starter. At Bayern he's sitting on the bench. He hasn't won the CL either and only the Bundesliga which he won with Dortmund anyway.

In essence he hasn't really done better than what he had at Dortmund. But i suppose things will likely change in the future.

I'm also hearing that Javi Martinez may be on his way out...with Barca being strong favourites to plop down the £28m

Maybe not all of the big players fit Pep's system...over time we may see some big names moving on to accommodate better Tiki-Taka.

As Pep said today, it all comes down to whether the people who run the club are willing to let the squad be reformed in Guardiola's image. Things may get worse before they get better.

Hehe, so this is kind of a playground for Guardiola. Nice by the Bayern bosses. :D Or is it they thought they want something new, because people know how Bayern plays (under Heynckes) and so they do something completely different: Tiki-Taka, but with Bayern. But I think there is a mistake in that logic, the other teams know Tiki-Taka allready.
At least they "invest"/dare something. ;)

I wonder, if Bayern really expected that, when they took him or if they just thought "popular+successfull+expensive coach+expensive squad= even more success"
