How about Ranieri? I hear he can do a pretty good job with a team that's 1 point above relegation one season, making them top the next, and it won't cost Roman £120m

Edit: But it does look like Hiddink will take charge until the end of the season

There actually is a lot of talk about Pep finally leaving Bayern end of this season since yesterday.

I always thought he'd go to City though.

The coaching carousel is going to be very, very interesting this summer.

I'd rather have Pep than Mou at United, but I guess we'll see what happens.

Talk is that Ancelotti is on his way to Munich next season. Seems like a pragmatic, yet good choice.

In the more hilarious comments some now think that "he will save Chelsea now"

Like if a Coach would rather choose the current chelsea squad, including back stabbing, power struggles and fighting against regelation over joining Bayern Munich in summer, most likely just having scored 1-3 titles, rock solid Club structure

Ancelotti has critizied the lack of competition for Bayern in Germany before but apart of this , the pressure to win everything and having to learn german i see little downsides.

Bayern could now also sign Mourihno. Which of course would be an utterly bonkers nuclear option, and could only be eclipsed by Chelsea signing Magath.

imma miss Jose though.... those post match interviews... pure gold.

love for Pep to go to Man U.

I gotta believe someone in the Prem will pick up Jose too...

Last season I'd agree but the pressure certainly got to him this season, the interviews have been so negative I lost interest in what he had to say, as it was the same every time, it was all someone elses fault

looks like at least that rumor about Man united signing Müller can finally put to rest:
He just signed a new contract untill 2021... not that his contract was in danger of running out, the old one was untill 2019 so i suspect it was mostly about salary

Martinez and Boateng also signed new contracts untill 2021 (2017 /2018 before)

Rather surprisingly they also gave Xabi Alonso a new 2 year contract untill 2017

Martinez much more fragile and less experienced than Xabi. Unless you're Wenger or Benitez you don't get rid of Xabi.

On the Man U topic, I feel that Mata and Fellini(sp?) have been a total bust. A few bright spots here and there but they weren't signed to bring only a "few bright spots".

Too soon to tell about Dupay(sp?) and Martial although I feel like they will be better signings in the long run than the other two.

LVG is a bit of a bust too, IMHO.

Chelsea Players FC suddenly remember how to play football after their leash is removed. Speaking of leashes United 2-1 down...at home...to Norwich

Leicester win again!

Lot's of big managerial vacancies to fill. I still feel like Man City are in pole position to land Pep, but that's just a guess. LVG's tenure at Man Utd has been far worse than I expected, surely he won't survive beyond this season?

Mourinho is one manager I hope never to see darken Liverpool's door. He is a petty, spiteful, vindictive, destructive little so-and-so. Whatever short-term success he could bring is not worth the loss of dignity and psychological damage he leaves behind. He's a cancer.

Nobody comes out of the Mou sacking with any respect (ok, maybe Willian). The players knew that by playing like **** they could help get Mou fired with very little risk to themselves. And now Chelsea fans are finally booing Costa - it only took them a year to figure out what the rest of the world already knows...that he's a monumental jerk.

This is another weekend where Liverpool absolutely need a win if they have pretensions of a top four finish. All the clubs around them are dropping points right and left, it's wide open. Spurs are still winning that race at the moment.

i think theguardian has figured Diego Costa out best:

1995/96 to 2000/01; Ferguson in charge and a fair number of trophies, also a fair number of bad runs. It takes 4 to 5 years to build a team but that doesn't fit today's 'I want it now!'. At the moment I'd like them to give LVG at least until the end of the season; his and Woodward's main error was failing to sign another forward given RVP, Hernandez, and Falcao left - they also need to get cover at left back. Pick up something in the January sales?

On Hernandez in Germany; players doing well at other clubs is known - Gary Birtles, Diego Forlan etc.

Jose; how is he with youth?

Happy Holidays,
OW

another example would be Christian Fuchs(Austrian squad captain) at Leicester. At Schalke his defensive weaknesses were continuously exposed because he was usually alone responsible for defending the left flank and also had to provide width at the front. And when he did that usually nobody covered for him.
At Leicester a rather defensive oriented 4-4-1-1 is played so he has a close partner when defending and thus his defensive weakness isn't usually exposed and when up front is covered and thus can focus his attack & crossing strength.

Leverkusen held talks during the week with Kießling and it looks like his desire to leave the club is off the table. Having two proven strikers with club legend Kießling and now additionally Hernandez sure is luxurious.

I agree, managers no longer get 5 years like Herbert Chapman did...I think it would be silly for them to get rid of LVG before the end of the season.

Of course, it doesn't help that a gaggle of ex-Man Utd players-turned pundits are continually calling for LVG's head.

Jose; how is he with youth?

Terrible, as far as I can tell. He only seems willing to work with fully developed players.

My Man U team needs to get rid of LvG, but I would not want Mourinho replacing him, I would much prefer Giggs.
