What a bloody come back. And we almost won it, too. I loved the fight from us today, the players looked knackered...

Columbus leak an equalizer at the death and draw 1-1 with Chicago. Argh......

Yes, we could have won it, actually. But, didn't.

On balance, I think a draw a fair result, and both teams gave it everything.

An impressive come back after an atrocious first half.

Both teams will feel they let an opportunity slip, though Arsenal will probably come out feeling better since they snatched a point after looking to be headed for a defeat.

A good weekend for Liverpool, Burnley are a tough team to beat, the clean sheet was a notable achievement,

Sometimes international breaks are fairly boring. This is one of those times...apart from the Germany-Netherlands match.

Have to say that I agree with you.

I found myself checking the Guardian last Friday ("10 Points/Things To Look Out For This Coming Week-End") and its sibling ("Ten Points To Note From The Week-End") published on Monday, and realising with belated bewilderment, that - on account of the international break - they were not going to appear at all last week-end.

When a Twitter spat between Michael Owen and Alan Shearer is front-page news, you know it's been a slow weekend for the football...

Hmm, England beat Kosovo thanks to an incredibly unfortunate OG while
Kosovo has a player down, and an offside goal...very easily could have finished 3-3. Kosovo are a 10/10 in terms of determination and commitment and possess some real talent, but England have no business leaking three goals against them. At home!

Did anyone watch the Finland-Italy match? I thought Finland’s fans were incredible, singing and chanting nonstop the whole match.

Thank goodness the Premier League is back this weekend...!

Amen to that.

Agreed. Though sadly my team don’t play until Monday. Not a fan of Monday games as you just see your team slide down the table on Saturday and Sunday. Especially this early on.

Gosh, to think that I can really a time of yore when all of the matches were played on a Saturday.

I don't mind Sunday games so much, but agree that letting things slide into Monday is a bit greedy and unnecessary.

Indeed. Of course I could always go to the pub and watch it on Monday, but as we are playing Villa probably not a good idea!

Absolute goalfests in a couple of the matches today. I had pegged the Spurs-Crystal Palace match as a potentially good one, but Palace have collapsed like a house of cards in the first half.

Pulisic only starts on the bench for Chelsea.

Liverpool brushed Newcastle aside, though no clean sheet. The defense is not as airtight as last season but at the same time last season the club were struggling to score a bit. Six of one, half dozen of the other.

No offence to Adrian, he’s not really in the same league as Allison is he.

Good news is Mane scored two and I’m the only one in our FF league at work with him in my team.

Man U at least has the lead at the half, 1-0, surprised the Wolves are down by 3 at the half.

Wolves aren't quite the surprise that they were last season, and every so often, a team such as Chelsea will have a day when everything just clicks for them.

Newcastle could have had a second goal early on, when they were 1-0 ahead, and it seems that Liverpool took quite some time to wake up and actually get going.

Now, once they got into their stride, yes, they imposed themselves and the result was not in doubt, but they were very sluggish for the first fifteen minutes.

Real Madrid almost gave up more points today, they still have a lot of work ahead of them. Watched the first half and after the 3-0 thrashing I decided to move onto the Liverpool game, weird how it ended up 3-2. A lot of bigger teams are dropping points while Liverpool just keeps on winning.

Europa league will do Wolves no favours this season.
Also Chelsea are doing much better than expected with the transfer ban. Perhaps the kids plus Lampard is giving them a team mentality rather than just get the ball to Hazard.

EDIT: Norwich will be beaten today, but I hope Pukki grabs another goal.

He isn't as good as Alisson, but he's good enough most of the time. I'd worry about him the most for the matches against Man City and the latter stages of the Champions League.

It could have been tighter, true - though Liverpool could also have had a penalty.

Agree that the Europa Cup will do Wolves no favours, it is an exhausting schedule.

And I suspect that - precisely because of Eden Hazard's departure plus the transfer ban, that there is a lot less pressure - and rescued expectations - on Chelsea than there has been in other, recent, seasons. Paradoxically, that may be of considerable assistance to them this season.
