oh dear, not a good weekend if your a West Ham fan, both men's and womens team getting beat 3-0.

Must admit with regards the the WSL Man U V West Ham, I do think Man U will be playing with much more vigor and determination because they know they have lost a very very important player, namely their constant match performing winner Mary Earps. She was a rock of a goalkeeper, kept them in the game many many times, just like De Gea did for United. Now with Mary gone I do think the players are going to be worried that without having a known goal stopper in goal, the team will work differently in making sure they get a win because they know Earps is no longer in goal. It changes the minds of people when that sort of thing happens.

Maybe. Maybe not. We weren’t all that much better last season. Hard to compete with billion pound teams.
We will all have to wait to the end of the season to see if getting rid of Moyes was a mistake. Watching fan video's on youtube there was a lot of anger against Moyes and fans wanted him gone. I think it was a mistake but we will have to wait and see.

I wasn’t one of them tbh. You have to give his replacement time. He can’t do everything he wants after so few games.

Tell that to the fans, all it takes is a few losses and fans want the manager gone. It's already been happening at Man United with an unconvincing win at Fulham then losses to Brighton and Liverpool and that was only 3 games into the season with fans wanting ETH gone.

I know (and neither was I, though I'm not a Hammer).

Fair enough.
Counter point; if it was Moyes in charge today, its fair to say the atmosphere would be a lot more toxic.
Perhaps.

However, I think that the team may well have salvaged a point, or, at least, would have contested better.

It wouldn't have been pretty, but it could well have yielded something for the team.
If Moyes was in charge I do not think they would have lost, I think they would have drawn.
I'm inclined to agree with you.

Thing is with a team like Chelsea and there expensive array of talent, they will now and again turn up and put in a good performance. Yes our defending was terrible. But I've seen us capitulate just as easily under Moyes in the past.

Time will tell I guess.
Capitulation happens to every team no matter who the manger is. The test of a good team and manger is limiting how many times it happens.

There are two football instances that have stuck in my head even till this day and that is Arsène Wenger creating the 'invincible's' and then 7 years later, the same manager suffering a capitulation of one of their worst defeats getting beaten 8-2 to one of their fiercest rivals, Man United. I never ever thought something like that could happen to the man that had done something no other premier league team had been able to do and has still not be able to do.

Watched the highlights this morning. They made an interesting point on our tactics with some odd choices for man marking duty at the start. We really need the manager to work out who does what in the team quickly. That said we should have had a penalty at 2-0. Not saying it would have changed the result, but you’ll never know.

Also reminded Chelsea beat us 5-0 in May under Moyes, so I suppose that is progress of sorts!

Draw between Arsenal Women and City women.

Pretty even game. Blackstenius had 2 glorious chances she failed to convert. Wonder what Russo would make of her starting.

Miedema predictably scores on her return. And a ridiculous goal from Park

Kafaji looks a good aquisition

Overall a fair result but women's game needs VAR asap. Arsenal had a goal incorrectly disallowed.

Men’s game has VAR and still has plenty of wrong decisions. We had one yesterday.

I think City Men’s team will probably do better. Haaland is in pretty good form at the moment.

Didin’t watch the game, but Blackstenius is infamous for missing important opportunities. But she have her good days too.

Kafaji is a huge talent, and I bet she will contribute a lot to Arsenal.

Fortunately for Arsenal, they will soon get back their centerback, the tall Amanda Ilestedt, that recently gave birth to a daughter. Swedish national team needs her back too.

VAR, definitely!

AC Milan is staying at the hotel I'm at - they have a match in a couple of hours. There are also a large number of absolutely gorgeous women roaming around the lobby. It's probably related. :p

Its harsh tbf. He was already in motion to clear the ball when the whistle went.

Its also inconsistent cos a City player cleared the ball away after a foul and nothing was given.

Arsenal now need a miracle to keep their lead. The match has been swung in Pep's favour massively.

Well, yes.

Inconsistent, yes, but Arsenal did have a few decisions go their way.

Losing your head when the stakes are so high (and you are on six figures a week) has always struck me as the height of petulant self-indulgence.
