Your also getting into this rather late in the game, so chill out and don't get your panties in a bundle.
Panties aren't in a bundle thankyouverymuch, and yes I should have called you out earlier, but I don't post as often as some when things are busy. I just noticed the level of venom in your response and was curious as to why you feel that you needed to respond as you did. What kind of a nerve did Duder's hyperbole strike? And where did this loud music thing come from?
Reread your response and tell me that was appropriate.

Holy Crap! Do I sound like your Mother or what? "Now Alpha, play nice. Is that any way to treat your playmates?"

Looked at yourself in a mirror lately, buddy?
Talk about no brainer, useless statements, with absolutely no purpose other than to make yourself feel a bare semblance of significance in the midst of your otherwise apparently pathetic existance!
What is your problem with the people whom you consider to be so much less intelligent than yourself?
No,please feel free to respond, this could be interesting......

Forget it! AlphaTech is always like that! He has always the longest, no matter what. He really must have a ****ty life, considering how he tries to brag about everything about himself or what he owns.

First he really pissed me off regularly, but meanhwile I just feel pity for him. Ignore him. No matter what kind of answer you'll give, he'll take it as a reassurement how cool he is and will go on.

I know Alpha-Buddy... Harley's are the best, guns are cool, you have a new TiBook, you have a whatever thing in graphic design, you are just everybody's hero! ..... did you ever try Viagra? Could help with your problem!

So just don't feed the troll!

P.S. How is it possible, that a normal person is doing 2300 posts from October 'til now? (makes an average of almost 9 postings per day since then!!!) Either he's unemployed and spending the money he inherited from daddy the whole day, or he has absolutely no social life. Would explain a lot.

Alright, alright, kids...back to your corners...

is the guy really harsh and abrasive? sure. is he more or less right? yeah. is everyone else thinking the same thing that you're thinking? most likely - so why bother bringing it up?

he's proud of his harley. that's cool. this week i really want a motorcycle, but i'd rather have some evil plastic and polygons superbike.

he's proud of his bachelor of fine art majoring in design. i'm proud of my bachelor of design.

he thinks a lot of you are over-excited school girls losing your minds while sniffing your Hello Kitty™ gluesticks...and at times i'd have to agree.

does he post a lot? sure. probably because he makes time in his day to do it. it's not as though he's writing eloquent tomes on here, he takes a few seconds out of his day to deliver a verbal beat-down to some unsuspecting pleb, then goes back to colour-correcting someone else's design work. whoops, i mean doing 'pre-press'.

skip over his posts if they bother you so much.

Actually, I left the pre-press job going on three years ago when I became a tech. I find it more challenging then staring at other people's designs and picking them apart (there were some real bad ones, but also some killer ones).

As a tech, I support BOTH Mac's and peecee's here at work, with there being many more Mac's.

As for being 'harsh and abrasive' well, only when I feel the target deserves that treatment. I am just as happy to help someone figure out what is wrong with their computer, or what they are doing wrong as opening up cans of 'whoop-ass'.

If you don't like what I am saying, then don't read what I have to say. Go back to your fantasy world where everyone is nice to each other and I will stay here in reality.

I could ask you just the same... why do you bother? You probably don't get the point. People like him scare off newbies, because they don't know him and one of the first replies they get is offensive. So maybe it is not bad to tell them once in a while, that they should ignore him. And since I made pretty bad experiences with him myself, it is my business, if I tell my opinion about him to other people.

That's no the point. To be proud of something has nothing to do with bragging all the time (no matter how ridiculous it is) about it. People who really achieved something in their lifes don't need that. He's defining himself through status symbols. And from my experience people like that always have a serious problem with themselves. And he obviously does. Not mention, that he's permanently humiliating people for feeling superior. Do I need to tell more?

"he thinks a lot of you are over-excited school girls losing your minds while sniffing your Hello Kitty™ gluesticks...and at times i'd have to agree."#

It is very interesting that you are talking about YOU and not US or SOME OF US!

So you are something better than the rest of us? I don't wonder anymore, why you are defending him.

Nobody who is working seriously has that much time to write that many posts. Don't forget, it is not only to write them, before you have to read other posts or to follow the thread. That definately takes more than just a few seconds.

But sorry when I ask.... isn't just color-correcting a pretty dull work for someone who has a masters in graphic design?

But I am pretty surprised that you know so well what he's doing at work... same company?

"skip over his posts if they bother you so much."

That's what I normally do... but if you don't like my post, just ignore it as well, wise man.

you're telling me a lot already. why do you take it so personally? it's a forum board. he's some stranger on the otherside of the world for all you know. why let it get to you? why try and disempower him with personal mantras about how mean people suck.

It is very interesting that you are talking about YOU and not US or SOME OF US!

did we just have an "i'm rubber and you're glue" moment? no, really.

so it takes a few minutes. its his work day. let him decide what he wants to do.

yeah. we're part of the same conspiracy. i work right beside him. he's watching over my shoulder right now. i gave him half my sandwich. he really likes my shoes.

he posted about his bachelor of fine art in a previous thread...in fact...in THIS thread. memory's not just for computers.

That's what I normally do... but if you don't like my post, just ignore it as well, wise man.

no, i really like your post. that you could miss the obvious humour in my post, and retort with something so serious is a little perplexing. yeah, abrasive people can scare of newbies...he obviously didn't scare off me though - or anyone else that's started since he's been here. if we're to assume that the people posting here are adults, and stable members of society - than we can also safely assume they've come across people that don't share their Gumdrops and Lollypops view of the world - and have survived to tell about it.

at what point do you begin to censor people in the interest of 'protecting' people's feelings?

"Actually, I left the pre-press job going on three years ago when I became a tech. I find it more challenging then staring at other people's designs and picking them apart (there were some real bad ones, but also some killer ones)."

Even now you have to point out again how superior you were, that you "picked apart" the work of other people! I worked for advertising companies dude and I know exactly what people like you are doing there. The creative part was done by someone else before... but why do I bother, you are bull-****ting again.

"As a tech, I support BOTH Mac's and peecee's here at work, with there being many more Mac's."

Wow! You are so good, your are so cool! Did anybody ask you? Why do you have to mention again that you are the (wonnabe) king on Macs and PCs??

"As for being 'harsh and abrasive' well, only when I feel the target deserves that treatment."

Do you really think that about yourself? I guess you need a reality check, buddy! You are like that to almost everyone. So please explain to the rest of the world, why the guy who opened this thread deserved to be treated like that? I am very curious about your answer since i don't expect any logical reason (like always)!

And besides that, to have a different opinion is one thing, to have respect for other people, even if they think or are different something totally different!

"I am just as happy to help someone figure out what is wrong with their computer, or what they are doing wrong as opening up cans of 'whoop-ass'."

Thank you, massa Alpha!!! Let me kiss ya feet, massa Alpha!!

Even IF that would be true, it's not an excuse to treat other people like that!

"If you don't like what I am saying, then don't read what I have to say. Go back to your fantasy world where everyone is nice to each other and I will stay here in reality."

You can say whatever you like to! All kinds of stupidities that exist in this world. But you reply on postings of other people and you offend them personally on purpose! This is something that shouldn't be tolerated. If you have to say something regarding the subject, fine! If you have a different opinion, fine! If you wonna help, fine!!! But not like that!

You know, your problem is that you never learned respect. And your last sentence is typical again for someone who always blames other people for his mistakes and never is wrong.

The only one who is living in a dream-world is you! Nobody expects that everbody loves everybody. The problem is that nobody seems to like YOU... and you don't even realize! You still that you are cool. That's so pitiful!

Get well!

I learned not long ago, that this forum is also visited by a lot of young people in high-school or college... Do you still think now it's harmless?

If I maybe didn't notice your sarcastic humor in your reply, I'm sorry, but my mother-tongue is German and not English.

Peace!

by north american highschool and college standards AlphaTech totally fits in. sometimes resorts to childish name calling (look a few posts back). Brags. is a little nihilistic, almost for the sake of it. kids totally get off on that kinda thing.

Drop it kids.
