I bought 7th guest right away and post it to german mac news site, ;-) but how about 11th Hour. Is it still one the way?

I remember playing both on MS-DOS, although 11th Hour was difficult to configure correctly. Also, 11th Hour's acting was unintentionally hilarious at points, which is not a good thing for a suspense/horror tale. My fave scene/line of dialog is when Chuck stumbles into the kitchen and is captured and taunted by Stauf and an unusually loquacious skull...

I've always wanted to play these games. I didn't have a computer back when these came out since my parents assumed I wanted a computer only for games and didn't see the value in computers. *sigh*

I bought it last night and got stuck on the cake puzzle. I didn't really understand what it wanted. I confess I had to cheat and look it up :(
It wasn't bad once I knew what needed to be done

I loved that game and the 11th Hour also! But there are several reviews saying this is version 7 and very buggy. Will there be updates to the game that fix the bugs? And will the 11th Hour be ported also? Thanks.

Yup, I played The 7th Guest on MS-DOS when it first came out, too.

A month or two after it came out, the creators (Graeme Devine and Rob Landeros,) gave a talk about game design at the local science museum. They asked how many in the audience had played it (about half raised their hands,) then how many had beaten it (only my friend and I did.)

They gave my friend and I some little trinket (pen? I don't even remember what it was any more.) I wish I'd kept it.

Definitely buying this. Already own it on iPad, but it would be nice to play it on the main computer, as well.

That is awesome. I remember getting a Creative cd-rom drive for christmas when I was a kid (first one I'd ever seen) and it came with The 7th Guest. That was a pretty amazing game back then.
