    Hi all,

Really pleased that I'm now the proud owner of a set of the Deluxe Limited edition of Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle! I'm based in the UK, and had to order from Amazon.com, but it doesn't half look good in the bookcase?

    Just wondering if:

    a) anyone else had read this?
    b) anyone else read his other stuff?
    c) I might be mad for ordering an OTT version of a book I've already got and read in paperback....

Cheers all - great to be part of Macrumors!

    That is a great series.

I have read them all. It is a extremely detailed description of life at that time period and I loved the parts about Sir Issac. I have also read Cryponomicon, a story about a Marine in WWII. Cryptography is one of my favorite subjects, and I was a Marine.

I dunno if I'd call Cryptonomicon a story about a Marine.

Any reader of Stephenson really needs to start with Snow Crash.

Great series, cracking story, wonderful narrative sweep and scope, intelligent and well-researched and fantastically well told. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the series.

    Cheers
