Hi I just wanted to say how happy I am with the IPhone XR’s battery life. Every day I get about 24 hours of battery around 40%. Yesterday (Jan 26th) I took my IPhone XR out of the charger and now today (Jan 27th) it is currently 1:37 PM and have 38% left. So I got about 29 hours of battery life with normal/a bit heavy usage through the day!

Let me know how you are experiencing the iPhone XR’s battery.
[doublepost=1548593264][/doublepost]Btw with heavy/normal usage I meant a bit of gaming, listening to music, watching videos and browsing on safari.

The XR battery is such an insane upgrade from my old SE! I went through multiple batteries with that phone. The XR just powers through the day for me. And if it doesn't, fast charging it on the commute home will do the trick.

I've found it a set up from my old 7, but nothing "amazing" - much like the performance upgrade. Glad you're happy OP, that's all that matters.

I’ve seen stories saying the 8+ is very close to the xr, and I’ve also seen people say the xr gets hours longer. No way to know for sure.

The XR I believe does have the best battery life on any iPhone yet.
Low resolution screen and large (for apple standards) battery. Apple has never prioritized or even marketed their phones as being a battery champion before the xr. 2 of my previous Android phones were both nearly identical in size to the 6+/7+/8+ and had much larger batteries. Even with android and it’s non optimized software, the battery life smokes iPhones as long as you don’t factor in standby drain. Apple could have been giving us xr style battery life for years, but chose not to. It’s funny how the xr screen is admittedly lower res than the plus phones, but now they tout its “best battery life on an iPhone ever” in order to distract some customers.

It’s not a distraction if it’s a fact, right?

They release a brand new phone that’s not even 1080p, and now want to talk about how great the battery life is? They could have given us this since the 6+ but chose not to.

No they could not. The XR has the same battery, or smaller than previous Plus phones and the new thing here is the A12.

So we have what is arguably the best performing phone in the world right now with very long battery life. Worth the 326ppi tradeoff in my opinion, given that there was a grand total of zero people complaining about the iPhone 8’s pixel density.

I mean they could have made the previous plus sized phones a few mm thicker.

Samsung galaxy s7 edge 3600mah
Moto Z play 3510mah
Samsung galaxy active 4000mah

All 3 of those phones are nearly identical in size to an iPhone plus model. All have way larger batteries. Apple COULD have given us extreme battery life starting with the 6+, but chose ultra thin over long lasting. Never really mentioned battery life as a feature until the xr, because they wanted to market it to people not willing to pay xs and max prices. So they know battery life is a big seller, they just never cared before. Even just removing the camera bump by making the phone flush (larger battery taking up the space) would have helped. Apple KILLS android in standby drain efficiency, but IN USE the batteries are lacking in size, especially all non plus phones.

Haven't checked exactly yet.
But comparing to the approx. time when the old SE's battery was almost dead, the percentage of XR have hardly moved.
I'm stunned every time when I still out of old habits will think battery will be close to empty.
Then XR have at least 75% left. So I would guess more the 24 hrs.
Amazing.

I was just about to post about the battery life on my XR. When I first got it and set up I was getting 6+hrs of screen time with 50% battery left and now I barely get 3 and have 58% left. I was an Android user before so when I got this phone I was Alta on it trying to set up and find how things work and now that it’s all set up the battery life has dropped.

Try using the Phone with low power mode. It helps a lot with saving battery life. I suggest you look at your phone’s capacity on coconut battery for Mac or Imazing for windows

The battery life is insane, lasts twice as long as the 7 used to
In my case it lasts 3 times more :)

What capacity??? I was getting the good screen time with how it’s set up now why would I need low power mode?? Like I said new to iOS

Oh, i’m sorry. I understood you incorrectly. I thought you said your XR didn’t’ last as long as it used to. My bad apologies

That is what I meant. But was wondering why I would need low power mode now to get the good battery when I didn’t need it before
Well lower power mode slows the cpu down by 40%, no automatic downloads and mail won’t update in the background. You won’t notice any slow CPU speed. Try it out

Often have about 75% battery left when I go to bed after a day of "normal" usage. Didn't charge it in this case and do it the next day, when it has still about 50% capacity left...That "feature" of XR is worth more than any fancy OLED display, border size, screen resolution or second lens to me....

These are impressive stats! I charge my 7+ multiple times a day. I usually use about 4-5 hours of screen time everyday. Is that normal?
How's the battery on that device? Did you by any chance get it replaced last year?

I am using mine between 2-4 hours a day but mostly in the region of 2 hours. But even with 4 hours it should last longer and my XR would last trough the day with 4 hours usage easily...(in this case I have about 50% battery left...)

Xr has lower res screen and bigger battery than the 8 plus so I would expect it to last longer.

Where I work I get 1 bar and I have 50% battery life with my xr at the end of the day. I was getting 30% on the max.

That’s kinda low. I get about 12 hrs of screen on time for my xr.
