    Hi, there!

I've been told in the in the nearby topic that OpenGL is depends on single core CPU performance.

Maybe that's why CineBench R15 shows slow results for GTX680 4Gb (~40fps). But under Win7 BootCamped it shows 80fps. Does in Win7 OpenGL use not just a single core of the processor?

Closer to my question. I've just upgraded my 2009 Nehalem cMP with 2xX5650 (ordered on Amazon by $200 for couple). Now it has 12 cores and 24309 points in Geekbench 3 64bit.

Now I'm stuck with video card – because single proc core speed do not allow GPU to fully breath.

Maybe, there could be another processor to 2009 Nehalem which can do 3000-4000 points in Geekbench?

Is it worth to turn around this case? Or everything is fine and there is no need to upgrade more?

if your on a pc there is no difference, since you can oc a 5650 to 4ghz like any of the bigger brother ex 5675. but mac mobo is pretty locked, so you're stock with 2.66ghz plus it's turbo.

This is a mac forums. What did you mean? It can be overclocked in Bootcamp? Or your need hackintosh or smth of that kind?

He means a PC with BIOS that allows overclocking.

You can stick dual X5690s or buy a better graphics card. But Bootcamp will always perform better because Windows has better drivers for graphics cards.

But GPU has a bottleneck in single core performance. X5690 is likely ~2500 points at GB3. And mine is 2200. There is no such a quality difference.
