Hello folks,

I see lots of threads on this forum about battery life, complaining that the battery is draining too quickly, that the percentage meter skips certain numbers as it declines, etc. etc.

I've found an amazing way to cure yourself of this battery anxiety. It worked for me! Just go into settings -> general -> usage and turn off "Battery Percentage".

I know it sounds crazy, but when you don't see that number ticking down every so often, you start worrying a lot less about how much battery you're using and enjoy your phone more.

Try it! iPhones have excellent battery life. Really, the icon is enough to give you a general idea where your battery capacity is without making you wince every time the number goes down.

I can vouch for the above, it really does work.

I double ditto the above. I've been doing that for quite some time with all my iPads and surprise surprise, guess what? They all get their standard 10-12 hrs of mix usage. ;)

If I stream music and the screen is off I can get around 72 hrs of battery usage.

Ah, but you're still counting/checking the hours - you have little way to go before you can say you're truly cured of battery anxiety ;)

Nope don't even bother doing that anymore. I did that when I first turned off the percentage meter.

A friend of mine suggested the exact same thing but I have yet to try it lol
I likes seeing my % too much :)

love it - my wife panics when her battery looks 1/2 empty after 8 or 10 hours. Don't have a cure but it is a serious illness.

Unfortunately doesn't do anything when there might actually be an actual issue related to battery use or the battery itself somewhere.

It tried but I couldn't do it. People say it makes the battery seem like it lasts longer but it doesn't really. I just can't watch the percent tick down, but I still can notice that the meter is going down at a good pace. If I got battery life like on my iPad (8-9 hours with 50-60% brightness and 10-12 hours with 25% brightness) I would feel a lot more apt to turn it off, since I wouldn't have to worry. But on my phone if I see I have a third left of my battery, percentage or not, I feel like I need to stop using it because I only have an hour and a half left at most.
