Ive been using LastPass with high rate of happiness, but than Apple decided to change the way extensions are treated in various apps all across the system (Safari mainly).

After the change, LastPass stopped working in Safari. Without going into tech details and/or reasoning behind this decision, I was faced with need of change (like wind of change hehe )......

Im currently testing 1Password and it has very similar capabilities to LastPass, works well with Safari. But its paid one (only 30 days free).

Know any alternatives?

Safari uses your Keychain to store passwords and can also generate passwords the same as 1Password and LastPass. Since it's free and works with your Mac and iDevices, give it a try.
Im using Keychain for things that are local (networks etc), and dont want to (due to personal reasons) use Keychain for my online activity.

I use LastPass. It has autofill, and works across macOS, iOS, Windows, Chrome, Firefox etc. So, if you are Multiplatform, you might give it a try. I've been using it for several years with no issues. Solid 2 factor authentication with several options to implement 2FA.

In the middle of several books.
Does BitWarden offer pass autofill option?

Sorry, I completely missed that. Doh!

See this - I use LastPass in Safari now with no issues. They have an update that is supported.

I installed from the LastPass website, followed the directions and it works fine for me. I did get a message about having to use the updated method since Apple changed how extensions work in macOS. I am relatively new to Mac (coming from Windows), so I am not sure how it worked before.

I also use 1Password because I’m a Windows user and Keychain is not (yet?) available on this platform.
Very happy with it! ??

Hi Folks,

First of all apologies, if my post is in the wrong forum. I am not very good at this.
Would anybody please to tell me why is there a ? mark in the internet browser where an image is supposed to be? I have a Macbook pro with iOS 10.11.6.
Thanks in advance.

As of now, Im giving 1Password a testrun.... so far, so good......
As of BitWarden:: seriously this product lack basic features as for Mac users and there is no sight of this being implemented. Im talking about TouchID/FaceID. Very much desired/needed, but developers gives **** what community wants/needs/desires. Look here

So, as of now, I stay with 1Pass. Thanks everyone.

1password, not had any issues with it. I have used LastPass, whist I had no real issues with it I just find 1Password works better cross-platform and has a better feature set. Support at LastPass is absolutely rubbish compared to 1Password.

What do you mean by rubbish support?

They take too long to respond and when they do the actual issue is ignored and all you get is a link to their FAQ. A good example that it was more than just me:

And compare that to

Enpass is my favorite and works great, although I've stopped using Safari recently and switch to Edge on all my systems due to Apple's humongous browser extension brainfart they had recently. Unfortunately, Enpass switched from one-time purchase to subscription model recently, and I understand that not everybody (including me) is willing to pay a monthly subscription fee for something as basic as a password manager.

If you don't mind paying $1/month (it's actually $0.49/month for 12 months right now) then it might be worth a closer look.

There comes a time when you need to consider what subscription models are important in your life and those that are not.

Personally I would rather incentivise a company to keep developing and working on something as important as keeping my passwords.

1Password costs me $36 for 12 months. When I think about the consequences of someone getting hold of my email and a password I have used more than once in the last 20 years..

I’m shocked people think paying for something as important as passwords is a joke. These things hold your digital identity. Before I used a password manager, I got hacked, and it took me weeks to get my accounts back that were hacked. I pay for 1Password and I have no issues doing that, and I’ve used it for years. I feel better about that subscription over Netflix.

Who said paying for something as important as a password manager is a joke? Again, read what I said. I never said I don't want to pay for a password manager. I said I don't want to pay a monthly subscription fee for a password manager. There's a huge difference between these two statements.

The problem with monthly subscriptions is that they quickly add up. Five dollars for this piece of software, two dollars for this cloud service, seven dollars for this software service, etc. I absolutely agree with @LeeW that at the end of the day you have to decide what subscription models are important in your life and which ones are not.

People don’t want too? I see posts in this thread and in others says different.
