I have never heard "fanny" used to describe "that".
It was always pee pee and I don't even remember what the other one was named.
I know a lot of my age challenged friends (mostly girls), refer to their vagina as a "pum pum." I believe they get it from rap?
The kids in my neighborhood use to call a vagina a VJ. I don't really remember needing to use the word vagina or any other word for it as a really young kid.
My friend's kids use the word "Cooch" for their girl parts.
I taught my kids the proper names of penis and vagina but they seem to prefer to just say pee or pee pee. I don't really know why that is but its not like they use those words often.

No, no my friend, you are confusing a legitimate technical term with children's words for private parts.
Which brings us to the Thingamabob. Or the doohickey. These are all very precise technical terms and are (obviously) unrelated to the topic at hand.
And don't even get me started on how people can confuse them. Sheesh!

I actually don't remember. I was an only child until my stepmother had a baby when I was 12 (and didn't live with them very long) so I didn't have much reason to be given cutsie names for penis and vagina.

not in the UK, here it's slang for vagina. Makes the term "fanny pack" very funny indeed.
I remember once walking into a hardware store with my Dad when I was 7 years old and asking the guy working in the plumbing department why the pipes were labelled male and female threaded.

I don't think it's quite that simple really when referring to lady bits.
Vagina isn't the whole (teehee) unit, it's only a specific part.
When children are referring to their bits (and bobs
) I'm not so sure they're actually referring to the actual vagina, more the entire unit.

Yes, its like a drug though. an addiction. They are very dangerous traps that can be very expensive. If you ever want to get out of this "trap" it can be very very expensive.
