Curious if anybody knows what the black dot on the crown of SS watches and also gold watches is made of? Looks like either enamel or plastic?

I don't know for sure, but would guess ceramic. Apple doesn't strike me as the type of company that would use plastic.

I'd hope the edition one is ceramic, the ss one will be Something cheaper probably

Just saw gold video. I believe the dot was done to reduce the cost. The crown is completely hollow where the black dot is located. It's filled with this black material, whatever it is.

It's either a sticker or Sharpie.

"It's a sticker made from the finest polymers available. Exquisetly moulded in a precise, but not perfect circle. The slight variation in roundness truly sets it apart from any other time piece ever designed. It truly is amazing." JI. ;)

I was curious about that also. It looks like there is nothing on the end of the Sport but a nice touch on the SS and Edition. It is those little details that make a watch look classy.

It's Blackubtainium. That no ordinary black, either. Apple painstakingly mixed every color together to get this one of a kind black. They had to do this in a chamber 500 feet beneath Cupertino in total darkness to keep any light from entering the mixture. Then they pressurized it to 1,086 bars (15,750 psi), on the floor of the Mariana Trench.

Another reason I chose to go with the SS version.

"The black dot inside the crown is made from the hardened tears of orphan children. Each dot is certified to have been composed of at least from 1 unique child to keep the composition uniform" - Jony Ive.

Too far bro. :)

Jony makes everything seem like its so rare or so difficult to produce. The way he spoke about the 5C made me laugh. It's plastic Jony! stop describing it as something else.

Edited out the "chinese mines" part. May offend someone but still leaving in the orphan children tears.
