In Vancouver here. Anyone confirm the most units to be at any one store? The Telus in Capilano Mall says they are getting 15. A friend works out in Langley and says the Port Kells one is getting 25 and one in Langley is getting 15. Also they don't have cases for them yet. She said they've been ordered and hope they are there for Friday.

She also said she's going to put one aside for me but I don't know if I can count on that.

I think 15 per store is accurate.

I went to a Rogers store, and at first the rep was telling me that it won't work and there are special micro sims coming for the iphone4 that aren't in yet. I told him I'll take one anyways and return it and it ended up being free anyways so i Just got it and well see....
 
Unrelated to the iPhone specifically but I am building a new cell phone tower for Telus in Port Coquitlam on Burke Mountain. There's a Rogers tower right beside it which is over 100 feet and Telus' tower is going to be per 200 feet tall. Trying to one up them I guess. ;) Anyways, just sharing because anyone in PoCo will be getting better reception soon!

Just got off the phone with Rogers rep. I said Bell offered me a great deal, he simply said "Sorry sir, we don't match plans". I said a friend got a great deal from Rogers themselves, he simply said "Sorry sir, we don't match plans".

How long should I wait before I call again to try another rep?
 
I called up Rogers and after telling me I am eligible for a iPhone 4, they told me that they dont do HUP on the phone anymore. This was my plan to get an iphone since i work.

Does anyone know if Rogers stores will be opening early (before 10AM)? If not, when would the iPhone's be able to be ordered online? (12AM, or 6AM when their phone sales goes on also)

Any help would be awesome. Cant wait to replace my failing 3G.

When they say " sorry sir we don't match plans" you need to say"then I should just cancel my plan". He will then need to transfer you to the retention people. They are the ones that can magically change your plan.
 
Questions:
So I'll be going at Bestbuy tomorrow morning and I was wondering if anyone knows how it works with the different carriers. I'm new to the world of smartphones and like do the people at best buy have a list of all the plans with all the different carriers or do I have to know them or do I only choose the carrier I want and call them or something??

And can I pay everything with my debit card or is it like applestore do I need a credit card to buy the iphone and to pay my monthly fees?

Was this retentions? Or just regular customer service?

Just ask to speak to customer loyalties or retentions its called one or the other ;)

Nevermind, I called again and they told me only account holders can cancel (I'm not). So that was a waste of time.:(

If the accounts under your dads name.. Pretend to be him.. But ask him first lol..

Or call as him and allow your son "yourself" as a level 1 on the account and you can do changes and stuff to the account!
 
I spoke with retentions yesterday and they were unwilling to budge. I spent 2 hours on the phone waiting and the first retentions represenative hung up on me and the second one offered me a worse deal that what i was currently paying. He then stated let me transfer you to the cancelation department where they will cancel your contract.

Im tempted to get a new account since It would be under my name. is it possible to get signing deals say like free VM/CID/texts on top of the 50 dollar student plan rogers if offereing.
 
I just clicked on " Upgrade my iPhone" on my Rogers account and for the first time it now shows that I can upgrade to the 8GB iPhone 3GS. It says that it's the only iPhone available at this time. Guess that the iP4 should appear as an option later today.
 
I'll be looking for the "Canadian iPhone 4 launch Anger" thread tomorrow.

I have little faith in our carriers to roll this out smoothly or professionally.
 
I just sold my 3G for 350$ and on my way home I stopped at a Fido store to buy a micro sim card (no way I'm going there tomorrow!). So now I just need to buy an unlock iPhone from the Apple Store tomorrow and I'll be all set! :D

Man not having my iPhone with me is really weird. I admire those here who were able to live without one for more than a month! ;)
 
Ahhh tomorrow this thread will be turned into, "I got my iPhone4" thread.

I can't wait to hear all the horror stories! It's funny when it happens to someone else :p
 
I cut my regular SIM down to a microSIM this morning in anticipation (tested it with my iPad, success!). Less than 24 hours now :) I think I'm going to buy it unlocked to avoid dealing with the inevitable mess of activation servers (Apple and/or providers, especially Rogers) being down.

What did you use as a guide?
Did any of the "golden" part get lost in the process?

The golden part looks like big on my Bell SIM.
 
gonna try and wake up early and get online and HUP before the system melts down...and then call my sister and tell her to get her ass over to apple and wait in line grab 2 and then I will go down after work and get my baby...and then wait for my rogers one to be delivered next week hopefully

Don't exploit her TOO much....just a little to get what YOU want....Hopefully it'll work out for you LOL

With that being said, showing a bit of skin has never worked for me. I guess being a guy has it's downsides too :p
