So my question is, say I went to my local AT&T store to purchase a case knowing the issue of the free, if available bumper, and chose not to get the bumper and remembering what jobs said "any" case. Would that pertain to an otter for instance ? Go in there get an otter and pay the difference? How is this going to work? Anyone know? Or is it just the 30$ cases?

My guess is that the "Cases" Jobs was talking about will only be available through the Apple online or Apple retail stores. Giving people $30 towards any case would cost them WAY more than giving people $30 cases. Apple can buy cases at a small fraction of retail then give them to us.....that would be the cheapest way out for them.
