This is a thread for the Champions League Final in Paris. Technically this sort of discussion doesn't really belong in the Premier League thread.. and personally I'd like to have a seperate little thread for those of us that care.

I'm afraid I have to start of with a **** story. I bought two champions league final tickets, for £870 (don't ask :p). I found a buyer of one at £700, and was going to go with the other one, for £170. Today, UPS man arrives with the envelope, and it has been slashed open by someone, and the tickets stolen. I was, and still am really, livid. Yes, I will get the money back, but I have missed by chance to go to my clubs biggest game ever, because some prick has stolen them. Never ever ship anything by UPS. I'm really pretty mad. :( And don't know what I can do. Anyone have any ideas?

In other talk.. team news etc. is all welcome here obviously. :) I hope me and a couple of other people can have a nice discussion. (I've saved you a seat Jaffa Cake - with a Hull flag on it - and Macsrgr8... I expect to see you in here too (and some others)).

Ok, lets see if anyone replies... :)

i'm for barca, too. no one is europe is playing prettier, more flowing team football than they are, and it's hard not to want that to succeed. surely they have the firepower (even without messi!) to break arsenal's impressive shutout streak...at least i hope they do. between arsenal's defense and their quick counter-attack threats with henry, should be a very entertaining game!

if eto'o and larsson leave next year and barca pick up henry, that's a pretty formidable front three (ronaldinho, messi, henry) if rijkaard can keep the big names in check and have everyone playing together. personally i'd prefer they didn't take him, but we'll see.

I'll be rooting for Arsenal, if only to see Henry coming through in the clutch (I hope). As I mentioned in the PL thread, I'm relatively new to football here; Henry is the reason I've followed Arsenal.

Go Gunners!

Whoops, didn't mention..

I'm an Arsenal fan. :p

I think this game could go either way - just depends on who really turns up on the night.

sorry but i really have to root for Barca here. i am looking forward to seeing Henry and Ronaldinho playing though, possibly the two best players in the world right now.

i've a feeling Barca will stuff the gooners 4-1...

Whats this? Quite dissappointed that a Liverpool supporter is not gunning for the gooners! All of my friends in Liverpool will be cheering the lads on on Wednesday night!

That's very kind of you. We're only a couple of seasons away from winning the Champions League ourselves so it'll be good practice for me. :p ;)

I'll be watching the match and hoping to see an English team lift the trophy for a second year running – I won't go wishing Arsenal luck on these forums though, because I did that for the Boro last week and it appears that I jinxed them...

The technicalities do not bother me. :)

Thanks for the good wishes...

Come on you gunners!

Right I'm off to the pub to watch it on a big screen somewhere, as I can't afford one yet to put in my house :D

Sorry I'm late joining this....!!

Funny sort of first half, eh :D ?

Now, please let us hold on to the beloved 1-0! Let's see if we can hold on on to our record, just half a match longer...!!!!

Glad to hear it all worked out, XII!!

First. If you ever get hold of the address of the ticket thief just make sure you've spent some time thinking of creative and painfully humiliating forms of revenge. I recommend looking @ Mideval criminal sentencing for inspiration.

Second, the first match I ever attended was Arsenal @ home vs. Chelsea. (And exciting match 2 -1, Arsenal btw) Naturally, I became an Arsenal supporter. Go Gunners!

haha... nice one, Boggle. And you bet, I feel the same way!!!

My first match I ever attended was an Arsenal v Aston Villa in the seventies.
Was just a little boy back then, and have been a Gunner ever since!
Go to Highbury at least once a year for about the last 10 years now...
