What fees are you talking about? Taxes will probably only make it a few extra dollars

It depends on the State (and City) you live in. In Dallas TX, my basic service is $74.99 (450 min, iphone data, $5 for 200 messages) and then taxes and fees add another $10.28 for a total of $85.27.

if you guys have road runner timewarner internet register for a premier account, you will get 24% off your monthly voice + data.

I pay £20 ($32.76) for 600 mins, 1200 texts and unlimited data on an O2 SIMplicity tariff.

Not a bad deal, I think. It shocks me to see how much people in the US pay for mobile tariffs. It also shocked me when I found out that incoming minutes are taken from your total over there too. It doesn't make any sense!

Ditto.

This also includes free Voicemail, discounted roaming charges and MMS=4 texts so its virtually free as well

I've been paying $107 for 450 mins, Unlimited Texting/Data for that past several months ever since AT&T took of my FAN discount. Finally got it all working yesterday and it's added once again, they even added money into my account that they "owed" me for my next bill.

I do think the family plans end up to be the best deals for U.S. folks. Benefits increase with the number of lines and if you don't use that many minutes (i.e. M2M).

We have four iPhone lines sharing 700 minutes, unlimited text. Each line is $58/mo after taxes, etc. for me in PA. I have the 200 bonus minute code on my line so we really are sharing 900 minutes.

Sometimes I envy the iPhone plans from Canada and the UK since you can get a plan with very few voice minutes, some number of texts between 200 and 1500, and not a lot of data for a very reasonable cost. I leave my 3G phone on data rather than WiFi all the time but could easily change habits and not hit 500MB in a month.

Heck, my wife is lucky to use 30 minutes in a month, but she pays the same as the rest of us (family plan or otherwise). She could carry around her shiny pretty iPhone and use it at her current levels and pay $30 a month for it in other countries.
