I switch between Xfinity and Fios as contracts expire. Try to keep broadband of 50 mbs or higher around 30-40 a month.

I do the exact same thing, and have been for about five years now, although I only do plans with no contracts.

I am currently paying for 60Mbps service with Comcast for $30 a month. It is for 12 months, and at the 11 month, I will switch back to FiOS for their "new customer" rate.

But, it sucks for many people that only have one ISP to choose from, it is not as easy to become a new customer, although, it is not impossible either.

Plans? We are probably referring to the same thing.

I hate contracts so excuse me if that isn't what I'm doing but I broadband is only contract I actually want to be locked into. Once it expires its the freakin' wild west, bill will constantly increase nearly monthly.

I've tried getting good deals once the term expires but they will never budge for me...at all even if I cancel! I think its probably because they see I'm using 600gb of data every month ie not making them much profit. Last time I cancelled out of frustration and the new customer loop hole dawned on me.

I also need to use my own router (30+ HomeKit device IPs) and prefer using my own modem so I don't have to rent. This causes me to have to buy and sell modems (to upgrade to the latest and greatest) which is a bit of a pain.
