Apple has used a crisp white background on their web pages for as long as I can remember.

There was a period where they experimented with black backgrounds for some products, but they seem to have given up one that now.

But today I noticed this on the iTunes and iPad page. Pretty subtle and nice, but different for Apple.

Apple has been using non-white backgrounds (usually some form of light gray) on their product pages for ages... Go look at Quicktime. Final cut. iMac. etc ;)

But that texture is a new take on it—I noticed it too.
