For what it's worth, I'm one subscriber who continues to enjoy the paper (yes - paper, ink, yesterdays news today) every morning. I still enjoy actually holding the paper in my hands - ink stains and all.

Nothing against online papers (as a subscriber, I get the paid online edition for free). But I still want to support an essential institution - even as it slowly goes the way of the DoDo bird.:D

Thanks for your support! Now you need to move to MY city so you can subscribe to my employer ;)

It really is sad how fast things have fallen apart since I started in this industry in 1998. Our paper is just a shell of what it used to be.

I used to be married to a woman from Grand Rapids. I don't think I'm welcome in Michigan (anywhere in Michigan!!) any more. :D

I think everyone's missing the big picture. It's a SMART PHONE. All smart phones have access to the internet, which is filled with tons of search engines, many of which are optimized for use on the small screen of a smart phone.

Siri is basically just a clever UI for the internet and search with a better means of input. Any smart phone can get this information! Siri is just better at it. :)

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

Let me show you the real dark side of Siri the O indicates 1X on CDMA which includes data and I used google right after this and it worked

Maybe because IT'S NOT A REAL PERSON and uses keywords.

The people who ask Siri these things could find the same information in any other number of ways. Nobody complains that Google lets you search for the very same phrases...
