Just found a very interesting (maybe boring) small detail in today's new released iOS 9.1: the default wallpaper has been re-edited!

In iOS 9.0-9.0.2 (left) VS in iOS 9.1 (right):

Um... I personal liked the default wallpaper, I mean the previous version which on the left very much when it was very first public released with iOS 9.
But now in my opinion the default wallpaper is a little bland and flat, and I'm a little disappointed that Apple really did this, though I would get used to the newer one sometime.

Why did Apple remake it in iOS 9.1, does this re-editing make sense?
What do you guys think about this change?

All they did was flip it upside-down and zoom a little. Wouldn't be a hard fix at all.

Apple changes wallpapers a lot of the time, many times just removing some and introducing new ones. By comparison this isn't that much of a change vs. just simply having a wallpaper you liked completely removed.

I completely agree with you. The default wallpaper in iOS 8 was gorgeous too.

But I can understand some old wallpapers disappear when iOS gets major updates, and newer wallpapers always look good and make me feel fresh to use the latest iOS.

In this minor update Apple didn't remove or add any wallpapers, only re-edited the default one (maybe more?) and let it looks terrible... I can't understand why at all.

Maybe it's time to change my wallpaper to the beautiful Jupiter :)

I should mention that it's still there on my iPhone 6, but it and a few other wallpapers seemed to have vanished on my iPad mini 4.

Weird! The feathers also disappeared from my iPad.

I actually like the newer version of the default wallpaper. It draws less attention to the background so you can focus on the foreground. I prefer less intrusive wallpapers.

Feathers are also gone from my iPad air 2; I liked the blue ones a lot; maybe just an accident?

You know what I loved? The Blue Marble shot of Earth in my iPhone 3GS. I got one similar but I can't get it exactly how it was then.

But on the lock screen you don't have to worry about intrusions by wallpaper.

On the home screen I think your opinion makes sense. Maybe this is why Apple reintroduce the default wallpaper, but it will still coast time to be totally accepted by people like me. :)

The feathers series is also gone from my iPad Air. Hope they are just temporarily removed by accident... :(

Oh I know that wallpaper! I like the Earth wallpaper in iOS 8 too, but it's also removed in iOS 9.

Instead, the 3 beautiful reintroduced planet wallpapers in iOS 9.1 look great, I think they are good alternatives to consider.

For me, I'm using the Jupiter which was first introduced alongside with iPad Pro as my wallpaper now. It looks so pretty on my iPad and not bad on my iPhone's smaller display.

So it's not just me. The feathers are gone from other peoples' iPads too. The blue ones are my favourite iOS 9 wallpaper.

    And most of us arent...

I dont know what kind of control freak (but needs better meds for sure) the person is who denied the possibility to add dynamic/motion wallpapers by a user.

I know we could of had some good ones.

The kick in the nuts is that all we have is the same one in a bunch of ugly colours...
