Actually, I initially thought when ordering this thing that 16Gs would be plenty.

It's not - since this thing can actually play video very very nicely, I've managed to fill it up right off the bat and still have much much more that I wanted to get on there.



Unlike the Touch and the iPhone, I actually want photos and video loaded up on my iPad.

I've had mine for about an hour.

I'm posting with it now. It's probably the coolest thing I've seen since I got my iPhone. Holding it can be a little awkward. I can definitely see getting the apple case for it to put it in a more comfortable typing position. Using the on screen keyboard is actually really easy once you get in a comfortable position.

Like everyone else has said, it's typical apple quality all the way around, plenty fast with a beautiful screen.

I'm really looking forward to seeing some more apps though.

This thing is going to replace my iMac for most of my day to day computing. It really does remove the separation from the content.

Man this is REALLY irritating the weather is so nice out and I'm stuck inside, my fiance is at work so there's nobody who can wait for my iPad to arrive. Just called UPS again to at least get some kind of a time frame for delivery, apparently end of business day is 5pm for Saturday BUT due to heavy volume it may take longer. GREAT

First impression: absolutely beautiful... Once again, apple has created a lovely piece of electronic wonder

A couple questions: anybody been able to find an iPad optimized Facebook app? It showed one in the iPad ads and in apple's website, but I haven't been able to locate one yet in the app store... I've found "HD" versions of the weather channel and shazam, and the app store immediately updated the IMDB app with the update simply stating "optimized for iPad"

Facebook looks terrible on this thing right now

Also, I wish they had included that pretty peacock feather picture they used in the ads as one of the background images... I was looking forward to that :/

Otherwise it's all I thought it'd be and more! Netflix is awesome on it, too btw.

will you need an app for Facebook? Won't the web version be just as good on the ipad

Yup. I just walked into the Apple store, played with one for about 15 minutes. It really blows you away how crisp and responsive the screen is. I then walked out and got in line for the people who didn't reserve in iPad. Took about 45 minutes and now I'm syncing it!

Out of curiosity, why does it say not charging?

This may be why. Consumer Reports and some others are reporting that the iPad will not charge when plugged into the USB port of anything other than a Mac.
