Yes and yes. It works the same as the iPhone. I think six on the dock.
 
iBookstore selection is thin

The one thing I'm disappointed in is the selection in the iBookstore. I searched for Isaac Asimov, hardly anything. Michael Lewis, zilch. I hope this gets better over time.
 
Love the iPad, but once again, it's not the hardware. Remember that first-gen iPhone? It's the software that's the story here and the mags, atlases and presentation apps are going to make this thing rock!

I love the ABC app, Nat Geo HD, Weatherbug, Time Magazine, BBC News, USA Today and TweetDeck, iBooks/Winnie the Pooh, Gilt Catalog and Twilight. The quality of the Jamie Oliver preview on the ABC app is nothing but astonishing! 😀

Huge future content potential. 😎

Yes you can actually, I do not have one personally
I ordered a wifi+3g on mrch 12th, but on macbreak weekly, ipad revealed they show that, but yes you can get up to six i believe.

PROS
- Not a giant iPod Touch. The larger screen makes the iPad specific apps much more compelling than I thought they would be.
- Beautiful like any Apple product.
- Sound is much more robust than the iPhone/iPod
- The screen rotation is done very well. All app developers are required to support all orientations, unlike on the iPhone/iPad.
- I can use the device as a revolving picture frame while not in use at home.

CONS
- Heavy. Hard to hold in one hand for a long period of time. Sucks for laying in bed.
- Typing on the keyboard sucks. It just isn't as easy as on an iPhone. Has an awkward feel to it.
- Not enough iPad specific apps out (yet).
- No multitasking. Worse with this device than with the iPhone/iPod because it acts more as a full computer and should work like one.
- No front/back camera. Really limits the types of apps that utilize any camera technology.
- Where are the technical books in the iBooks Store?
 
I know the camera connector isn't out yet, but do any of you remember the usb camera connector they made for the original iPod Photo years ago? I have one of those and as far as I can figure out, it's the same dock plug.

Has anyone tested this? Would it work?
 
Outstanding battery life. I have been using it for a few hours with wifi on connected to my network and my battery is only at 87%!! Awesome, really is an amazing device.

How do you get that app you mentioned? I have a JB iPhone with internet tethering available. Will this work for the Wifi only? I'd like to avoid the extra 3G iPad charge and the ATT payment as well.
 
Went to best buy

I went to best buy 30 minutes before they opened. I was first in line with, evntually, three more people behind me. I love the ipad. I made the mistake though of buying a screen guard.

As for The Game of Life - 2x doesn't work
 
I'd give it 'a little time' I am sure much more will be on the way.

of a little bit interest for East Asians is that Traditional Chinese which Taiwanese, Hong Konger, overseas Chinese use every day -- oh, and Korean --are not supported although almost every (except the first few) iPods, iPod Touches, iPhones supports this beautiful language. Hail to the great Communist Red China.
 
Two questions for iPad

1. Does it have build-in microphone? It seems so from Apple's tech specs, however where is the voice memo app?

2. How to connect to Wi-Fi with 802.11X certificate. My university provides certificates for password-input-free internet connections. The certificate works in my iPhone, iTouch but NOT in iPad. I am told to leave username blank and change to some ETS mode. However, iPad would NOT let me join the network.
Please help here!

When I went into the store at 2:30, there was no preorder line. I was just able to walk in and buy my iPads (one was for somebody else) immediately. I thought I wouldn't be able to buy any accessories this late, but they had a lot of each iPad accessory, and I got the Apple iPad case. It looked like there was a cart with goodies for the people who had to wait in line, too. So, I bought my 32GB iPad today... But I didn't open it because I wasn't going to rush to unbox it and sync it. I had to leave for the Easter holiday, and I don't have my bag to carry it yet, either. Tomorrow night I can really enjoy my new iPad.

I did get to play with it for five minutes at the Apple Store. It wasn't immediately amazing, but I know it will be during actual usage. Typed seemed akward and typo-inducing in both landscape and portrait, which will probably change. Using my iPhone now, I'm really realizing how much better Safari on the iPad will be for sites like forums.

Really? That must be just a logistical hurdle, I'm sure traditional Chinese will get added soon. 🙂

I carry one all the time. I love to see people's faces in the airport when I pull it out of my bag and let others share it, to charge their phones (it also has two USB power ports). 😛
 
Yeah, some of the Tech reviewer are reporting battery times in excess of 11 hours.

I wasn't entirely sure of the iPad before I held one today.

I want one now. I picked it up and immediately felt as if this was what I wanted for my entire life. Something I could pick up, use, and enjoy.

I'll definitely be picking one up in the next week or so.
 
I'm personally amazed at the amount of people saying how bad the keyboard is. In landscape mode this keyboard is much easier to type on than an iphone.
