I went from the 5s to the 6 Plus, and I never expect to go back to a smaller phone. I was thinking about switching to Android if Apple didn't come out with a bigger iPhone in 2014. I didn't feel that I had to adjust to the bigger phone: I loved it from first touch. My wife has the 7, and every time I use it, I find the small size frustrating.

These threads are pointless. It's a personal choice and never a binary one. There are pros and cons for each model. Stop it. It's grade school logic.
To encourage discussion.

Nobody ever said "The 7 is awful and you should never buy it", I was just pointing out the objective differences and that overall I like the phone better. I even included a poll to help with discussion, asking if people got a Plus but ended up hating it.

It's so weird but unless I'm playing a game or have multiple tabs open, it would seem like my 6s is faster in speed than my 7+. It's either a placebo effect or it has something to do with the power management in the cores. Anyone else feel this way?

I went from an iPhone 6 (which i still use as my Spotify device) to a 7 Plus and the first half hour i got it, i was like holy crap it is HUGE!!!! now i dont even notice anymore and going back to my 6 feels so small. To think that 3.5 seemed big back in the day!

I went from a iphone 7 on launch day, then went to the iphone 7+. After having it for a couple of months i decided to make the switch back to the regular 7. As i loved the plus it just wasn't for me to heavy and to big for my every day use.

I had the 6 Plus. got used to it and enjoyed it. But eventually the size of it started to bug me and I switched to the 6s 4.7

The issue is the bezels, I will be back with the Plus model if apple makes those bezels smaller.

Funny, I've noticed the 7+ battery life to be no better and perhaps slightly worse than the regular 7. Maximum brightness also seems slightly less, but I went from a clear glass to a matte glass cover so it might be the impression that the matte coating gives.

I'm not disappointed since I turn off a lot of unwanted features and get 10-12 hours use typically, which is enough for a day's use, but I expected more. I once saw 15 hours of Safari browsing on the 7 before I sold it.

Screen is a lot better for TV, movies and the web but size is more difficult and I can't really use it single-handedly with a case.

I'm hoping the 8/Anniversary will have a 5.5" screen in a 5.0" form-factor, but I'm also keen for it to change to a wider ratio. This way it can stay slim for ease of single-handed use but get more vertical screen real estate. 18/9 could be good?

From what Ive seen posted online I would say only a small percentage of 7+ users get better battery life than I get on my 7 and many get worse, although lots of factors needed to be countered in when comparing. It's interesting if the same user has better battery performance out of a 7 with similar usage though.

But then again, your iPhone 7 battery performance seems to be (quite) well above average for the most part.

Perhaps .. but it's still
Interesting to get this oppinion from someone who has used both devices.
I personally think the battery performance differences between the 2 devices is exaggerated by some and the larger screen size cancels out at least half of the mAh size difference generally.

Cheers

I love the regular size iphone 7. I choosed it over the plus because I feel that 7 plus could have been smaller in size. Those bezels made it look bigger than even 5.8 inch phones. I feel that the regular iphone 7's lower resolution helps it keep a more solid frame rate in some games.

It takes little time to get used to a larger iPhone. After you do you will never go back.

I couldn't get used to the plus. Gave it to our son and went back to the non plus. My experience was it's wasn't comfortably pocketable. I work outside and it was sticking out the cell phone pocket on my work pants.

When not working and at home I wear slim type jeans, Levi's 501 to be exact. Man putting the plus in my front jeans pocket felt like a brick.

If I had a desk job and / or wasn't as mobile as I am being on the run a lot then the plus could work.

I am giving my age away but I use a holster. Wear jeans and golf shirt, untucked, when in the field and find that the holster lets my get to and put away my phone the easiest.

I know most would not even consider a holster but I agree with you and the 7+ is too big for the pocket.

I have a handbag so the size of my phone isn't an issue. However I think having an Apple Watch negates the size even more.

Well mine fits in my front pocket fine but I don't wear skinny jeans. Or I use my jacket or backpack. I'll see how it goes this weekend.

Today when I was out the auto brightness was at constant max and the 7+ battery drained like a sieve! I didn't notice this to be anywhere near as bad with the 7.

The 7 Plus screen sure is hungry. I think higher DPI LCD screens need stronger backlighting.

The switch to OLED can't come soon enough!

You had a 7 while you were out as well that was also at constant max that you were using as much and it wasn't dropping as fast as the 7+?

You're right, if everyone wanted one or the other Apple wouldn't make both. So many factors go into the choice it makes the discussion between what's 'best' pointless. There is only what's best for you.

I owned the 7 for about 3 months. I thought the brightness was noticably higher on the 7 meaning the screen didn't have to be turned up as high as often and it didn't drain as quickly in real world use.

These are impressions/anecdotal evidence and are by no means a scientific test.

I thought battery life on the 7 was excellent and the 7+ is adequate to good. I'm not seeing the 2-day battery life on the 7+ some people claim.

Still happy with the 7+ but I can't wait for an OLED iPhone.

PS: I just installed 10.3 Public Beta 3 and did a complete erase and set up as new so I'll see if that makes any difference.

10.3 seems even Snappier!
