i believe it is theoretically possible to carry both

Truly? You mean ... I've been struggling to figger out how to carry just one all this time, for nothing?!?! I DEMAND to know the MEANING of this outrage!!! ;)

Mr Bulk:

Thanks for the entertaining account of your case journey. You certainly have a knack for writing, if you can ever find time between Iphone case evaluations and purchases.

I've been pretty pleased for awhile with my Twig case:

http://www.twigcase.com/

Then I made the mistake of taking a look at the Iphone Accessories forum (haven't been on here for awhile). Before I knew it, I had ordered two more cases:

http://twelvesouth.com/products/surfacepad_iphone/

http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/apple-iphone/iphone-5-cases/iphone-5-case-ultra-flip-series.html

It's a sickness I tell ya.

So far, I've been able to suppress this disease, but that doesn't stop me from constantly looking at cases. :(

Thank you kindly, it is indeed an affliction of the highest order.

I see you considered both folios (TwelveSouth and UltraFlip) as I did, but unlike you I could order only one due to a self-imposed limitation after my initial case binge. You had more free passes remaining than I.

pleased with wrangler case

I've been using the wrangler case for almost 2 months and I'm very impressed with quality of this case. I've had my share of cases from speck to otterbox until a friend recommended ivyskin's Wrangler case. This is by far the best case until I find something new :)

Went to Ivyskin's site and saw that the back of the Wrangler has what appears to be a line going up one side, across then down the other side. Would this happen to be a slot for a credit card or something? If so I may have to get one!

Hello my name is Jonathan...I have this disease as well :(

Haha. Seriously, it drives my absolutely crazy. Here are the cases I've tried thus far with my iPhone 5.

-Speck Smartflex View
-Speck Candyshell Satin
-Switcheasy Nude
-Switcheasy Tones
-$5 eBay bumper
-Pad&Quill Pocket Book
-Lifeproof Fre

At this point, I'm just considering buying insurance on the phone and going caseless. Even with insurance though...I don't want to be walking around with a scratched up phone all the time. 1st world problems...I know.
Just got a Spigen Slim Armor. Right now...totally loving it. Think it has a serious chance to be "the one."

I also just purchased the Slim Armor in gun metal for my white phone. I like it a lot but the plastic back piece is quite slippery. Any thoughts on that? So far I've been careful and lucky - no drops.

Haha! Just read the OP's post...and I can relate. There is no telling how many cases I've bought for my various iPhones sice the first one. It would be one thing if I bought them from somewhere I could return them to and get a refund...but my frugal ass won't pay retail so I look for "deals" on eBay, which is usually a smart thing, but I've wound up with a freaking whole dresser drawer full of cases that I've "gotten over". Truly my own personal brand of OCD.

I'm sticking with an Otterbox Commuter for the moment...that s, until the Mophie Hydrogen case I preordered comes in...

Yeah my problem is not so much not knowing what I'm buying, but being unable to RESIST buying them even though I already know something about it (I do hang out at Youtube and read written reviews, etc.), unable to resist because I think that part of it is actually like a "hobby" for me, the acquisition, the feel of it in your hand, the comparing of your personal impressions and notes to that of what the review said, etc.

Start a blog about all of your phones... subscribe to google's adsense. I know there are a bunch of iphone case review sites, but it doesn't hurt to have one more!

Hey, cool idea. Never thought about doing something like this. Perhaps I will - Thanks!

Not sure if casing the already kinda slippery iPhone with a case that may not be much more grippy is gonna work. But if you do drop it, at least you now have a case on!

As you have read, I too have a bunch of no longer used cases...there should be a MacRumors garage sale of some sort...:)

There is only one cure for this disease and it's to stop using cases altogether. Cold Turkey. I have been using my phone naked since the 3G (4 and now 4S), and haven't looked back.

*Disclaimer-The iPhone is naked, not me.

You're using it naked? *in best Mr. Bill voice*: Ohhh, Nooooooooo...!

Now that you mention it, I had no problems occasionally using my 3GS without a case, but something about the form factor of the 4 (and now 5) just precludes me from using it that way. The 3 was more organic, more curved, more shaped to fit the hand, I think. And the rounded back made it easy to pick up from a flat surface and easier to hang on to.
