Hi,
I have Snow Leopard on MBP and use Time Machine for backups with my external WD 1TB hard drive ("My Passport").
Sometimes I get an error message, and actually the weird thing about it is that it sometimes gets fixed by itself.
During a Time Machine backup, the backup fails due to a disk problem.
And from there on - The disk cannot be mounted. When I connect it to the computer I get an error message that "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer". Neither restarts nor shutdowns help.
Disk Tools cannot repair (it's grayed out).
This happened to me about 3 or 4 times in the last six months, and somehow resolved on it's own.
I fear the disk may be defected.
Anyone run into a similar case or knows a recommended solution?

Thanks for the help !
