Hi all,

So I spilled some wine on my 3 year old MacBook Pro. I freaked out a bit and didn't check what to do, just drying it ASAP and checking it almost immediately afterward.

I know the warranty's done for, but can I have the keyboard replaced? The trackpad/mouse and everything else work, but I'm pretty sure the keyboard is fried. It's upside down, under my AC just in case. Any advice about what to do next under these dire circumstances would be appreciated.

Thanks!

do not turn it of for at least a a week!

it'll need a good long run to dry it out.

Other users but their machines in bags of rice to help with the drying process

even then, your computer's mostly screwed

if all that doesnt work is the keyboard, consider yourself lucky and just get that replaced (not user serviceable, you'll need to bring it to a service centre).

if the logic board has taken a hit and the computer wont turn on anymroe. more often then not, it will cost more to repair it, then it iwll just to buy a brand new one. so dont even bother getting it checked out

Keyboard assembly replacement is about 40-50bucks for the part.

Hopefully that liquid didn't get anywhere else though. Good luck.
