The Dyed Orange iBook Thread!

I clicked on this thread thinking it was some sort of thread for people like me who have the original tangerine G3 iBook.😱

Was a little disappointed but it looks like you did a good job. Don't think I would dare do that myself.

You can get Leopard on G3's, (heck even 604's if you're dumb enough to try that) it just takes a little hacking of the install DVD.

yea but i personally do it mainly cause it would run slow but i dont have a g3 anymore so i can get it on my g4 which i have it on but emac since i got macbook with leopard...

wow. i wouldn't have the heart to do that to my mac (assuming i had one). but good job. . orange is a nice colour. haha.😉

he like didnt paint them but he like dyed them, painting it would make it look pretty bad i saw it before made me sick

I respect that you individualized it. Having the same thing everyone else has is just boring.
 
Most of the g3 ibook cases are clear with white painted on the inside. I removed mine on the bottom part with the methylated spirits* and removed the metal interference shield and you could see the circuit boards which could look cool with the orange.

Also I think it would look cool with a red dyed keyboard the white doesn't seem to look quite right, to me anyway.😀

* I think it has a different name in different countries but most households have it.
