I bought mine new from Apple in May, but went for the base line i3 model as I wanted something to run cool and quiet and don't need the horsepower. I got an Xbox and a Switch for modern games.

But now I do want an arm mini ...

I need to run VMs, Remote Destop, VNC, I tend to have lot's of browser-tabs open.

I also want to add a 2nd display at some point. Or a 3rd.

Current minis aren't bad, but I want a truly cool and silent desktop. X86 compatibility is nice and all, but I'm ready to give it up in exchange for minimal heat and noise. I'm sure the new Apple SoC will deliver, but I'm really hoping the graphics will be good. At least games from the iPad will be exchangeable and ported from day one for the Mac! That is at least something.

(My first post in almost five years...!!!)

The same, mate. Bought mine today, having procrastinated for 18 months. 16GB of RAM, otherwise maxed-out.

Can I ask (without hijacking) whether there's any clarity on using Nvidia cards in an eGPU housing for playing games in Windows through Bootcamp with the 2018/20 mini? Mac performance, I'll be happy with the integrated GPU.
