Seriously, now that iTunes will be doing a music, audiobooks, photos, videos, bookmarks, contacts, mail accounts, everything-but-the-kitchen sync, is it not time for a new name for the application?

Imagine trying to explain to someone new to the Mac how this works?

"How do I add my contacts to my iPhone"?
"Through iTunes".
"... isn't that a music player?"
"Err... yeah. But it's also for syncing your contacts.. and mail...and..."

I'd leave it as it is. It's just a brand after all. Apple Stores are not greengrocers either.

They should beef up iSync and make a windows version of it. Then bundle it in the iTunes package.

Then change iTunes name to something like iMedia (not a great name - I know) for all your audio and video.

Or something like this...

I was thinking of the same thing today, maybe the iLife store?

Not a bad choice. I think they'll be reluctant to change it, what with the currrent exposure the "iTunes" moniker has; but with the added functionality that the iPhone launch will bring, it's too confusing.
