The exterior of the thing is what? 90% glass? 95%?

The fact that it doesn't completely shatter to pieces from even the smallest drops is nothing short of an engineering marvel.

It just continues to baffle me that people think that its even remotely realistic to drop a solid chunk of glass and have it not break.

Some perspective is surely needed.

He doesn't speak English but the results speak for themselves. Really makes me wish they had that Ceramic Shield on both the front and back.

Damn, just make the back metal. Who cares about glass on the back? Awesome the front side can handle that much abuse though.

Some people have money to waste.
They legit think they can spend $1000 on an iPhone to drop, and post the video on YouTube and recoup the money in ad revenue. The sad part is that sometimes they're right. Why do we legitimize these people? Ugh.

Isn’t the back glass specifically for wireless charging? The 5 through the 7 all had metal backs but they added glass starting with the 8 which was the first phone to have wireless charging.

Well ok. Ignore me then.

or just make the back out of whatever the front is made out of.

It’s utterly pointless as every drop has multiple variables which contribute to damaging the device.

Yes if you do drop glass it WILL break, maybe on the first time, maybe on the 15th time but it WILL break.

Let’s try driving a car into a wall at 60mph to see if the airbags save your life would be a more suitable test for these wasteful vloggers.

Indeed.

It's like a non-standardized car crash test. It doesn't really offer much in terms of valuable data.
