Is it just me or does it really start to hurt / dig into your skin?

The rounded edges of 11 Pro Max were a lot more comfortable to hold than the flat edges of the 12 Pro.

I actually had to get a case for the first time, and even still, it’s uncomfortable near the bottom / speaker grill.

If you never held a 4s or 5 for any real period of time, the new model will probably feel awkward.

see, the 4-5 were fine.
I never had that issue, maybe because they were / felt thicker or were just smoother.

The 12 Pro is just no where near as comfortable.

The main reason i had to return it. It got bigger and heavier (Pro), when the X was already a borderline case for me. And if you add the uncomfortable edges to that, it was just too much.

But i hope it will be fine with the Mini.

Found out that you are locked into a 2 year contract + monthly payment for your new iPhone too! I guess I don't like this type of deal!

When it starts to hurt, maybe that’s a sign you’ve been on your phone too long. ;)
I can happen within of minutes tbh.
Maybe it is the size of the phone that is the problem for you (in relation to hand size) instead of the square edge design.

Nope.

11 Pro Max is fine.
12 Pro isn’t.
I’ll be getting a 12 Pro Max but will have to try and find a case that rounds out the edges again.

You think the phone hurts and digs into your skin, and is uncomfortable, but now you are going to get the bigger, heavier version? That will probably make things worse.

I can see why people think it is uncomfortable, we have had rounded sides since the iPhone 6. I prefer the flat sides we have now, but it is an adjustment for sure. For me with no case the flat sides are much easier to hold.

Use AirPods, I never hold the phone if I know its going to be a long call.

It has to be uncomfortable, unless Sir Ive and company lied at the time they introduced rounded edges with iPhone 6. They said, vaguely, something about rounded edges feeling better as agaisnt the outgoing 5s design.

Pay Apple couple hundred Dollars more and get AirPods to circumvent an issue with your latest and greatest multi-hundred Dollar purchase.
