Any predictions? Are we gonna go on in the same vein, bigger and faster, or have we peaked with size? What new features can we expect? How will the iPhone differentiate itself... it seems as time goes by, the iPhone is losing its uniqueness.

The market will saturate, changes will be progressively more iterative, and the next exciting technology (whatever it may be) will be the grounds for major new innovations.

We've peaked with size. They're pocket computers and they're now equal or bigger than pockets.

We might actually see some of the phone functionality replaced by wearables/headsets.

But think what more you even want out of your pocket computer at this point? To never have to charge it? For it to be unbreakable? Submergable? These will all be addressed soonish, but they won't transform the device.

A lot of us have seen phones go from a stationary instruments with which to make a phone call to adding answering, contacts, to going remote to going wireless, to going camera, internet, application computer, personal typewriter, on and on.
As for predictions; one day, handheld devices will go to "Gibsonian" 'trodes' or epidermal patches where we're connecting thought communications and knowing by simple unspoken questioning. Sounds weird and frightening but realistic within a few decades as technology progresses. How's that?
