I'm posting this interesting 2022 article for those who may not have already seen it - I certainly hadn't!

Having amassed many Macs in my collection, it's still the one which excites me the most. And once one becomes familiar with the teardown procedure, they are amazing machines to work on. Replacing the HD with an SSD is not too difficult and imho well worth it.

That is awesome! Something is lost in the race for thinner, lighter, smaller. Indeed, one of my favourite parts about computing as I was growing up was tearing the case off of the machine, upgrading components, and getting to experience the difference the upgrades made first-hand. The G4 iMac was one of those magical machines.

I agree! Another reason why I love my mid 2012 MacBook Pro. After having maxed out the memory and added an SSD it's been my daily use laptop since purchase. Wonderful machine!
