Last night, after a long and exhausting day filled with toddler negotiations, museum visits and the noble quest for a dinner that wasn’t just toast, I finally collapsed into bed. I was ready to drift off into the sweet, soothing arms of sleep. But after this looomg day, I couldn’t.

Almost 2 hours of tossing, turning, and contemplating the meaning of life later, I thought, “Maybe some calming music will help.” So I reached for my phone, long-pressed the power button and politely asked Siri, “Play Great Gig in the Sky by Pink Floyd.”

She thought about it. I mean really thought about it. A full ten seconds of what I assume was an existential crisis later, music finally started to play. But instead of dreamy vocals of Clare Torry, I was greeted by something else.

I tried to convince myself “maybe it’s a rare live version I never heard” But no. It was pure Siri nonsense. So I opened Spotify to see what she’d actually played, and well… here’s the screenshot.

Now look, I don’t have a thick Glaswegian or Geordie accent. I’m just a bloke from Surrey asking his voice assistant for some classic Pink Floyd.

At least she didn’t search in the internet for tickets to some techno gig in Seoul.

Siri's responses/results/actions for requests have been atrocious the past couple years, especially for music requests - constantly telling me it can't find that song in my library when it's been favorited in my library for years.

Aslo: @SilmarilFinder While GGitS is an all-time favorite, I'm not sure I would categorize it as calming, but a full auditory journey along a not-so-mellow trip :)
