Or it just lasts longer because of the new processor taking less energy?

I'm asking because: if it's a new, improved battery, if I ask for a replacement of the battery on my 2011 MBA, could I get the new one?

bigger battery + cpu less energy-consuming + osx optimizations
why such improvements while other laptops on Haswell do not reach such battery life score?
Probably because Apple has developed its own OS for its own laptops
why Apps on iPhone are more stable than its Android version?
same stuff, its all about system

Before you even entertain such wacko idea :D do we know if both batteries have same physical dimensions?

But lets come back to the reality. The 2013 battery life improvement is due to 95% more efficient CPU and I hear a "slightly" bigger battery, so no it doesn't sound like the 2013 battery is a super-duper new technology chemical formulation.

Sorry, your Civic is still a Civic. ;)
