Ill edit this the day after the announcement and look like a genius!!

Im hoping early May too.
 
I am sooo close to pulling the trigger on a current model..i really need one, but knowing something is likely around the corner is killing me!!!!!!!!
 
Will it be before or after the new notebooks?
I'm trying to decide whether I'll get a Macbook Air w/ External Thundrebolt drives and a Thunderbolt screen or just get an iMac.
 
I might just have to get one of the 21" models with a SSD to start some projects i need to get going on ASAP, and then if the new models are great i will get the largest screen possible and use the 21" 2011 model as a second computer in the theater room. I guarantee once I buy the 2011 model the apple store will start updating with the new models.

Great, I bet it will come out in May during my exams so I won't have any time to join in on the excitement on here.
At least I culd have fun studying on it.
 
My thoughts:

April - Macbook Pros
May - iMac / Mac Pro
June - Macbook Air / Mac Mini
 
I'm going with Star Wars day, silent announcement. No fanfair.
CPU/GPU upgrade. No Retina. Still Optical DVD. SSD boot drive (128Gb) as standard. No screen size change.
 
it seems like Tim Cook's fav day is wednesday, as iPad 3 was released on a wednesday. so im guessing May 2 or May 9
