Wow awesome to see so many new converts, welcome! It's like going to a new BMW after driving an old oldsmobile (nothing against old olds lol). You'll fumble a bit to find the wipers but once you're used to it you'll never want to go back. Or at least give it up entirely (I have a "Wintendo" for gaming.... )

I'm about to receive my brand spanking new 15"MBP as a replacement to my 2009 MBP that was having issues. It was on Apple Care, and after a few (easy and extremely efficient/fast) repairs Apple said enough, and sent me a new one, super! :)

Get Apple Care its totally worth it. :) (in my humble opinion)

Finally My New Days Has Come..

Today in February 14, 2012 I decided to replace my MacBook Pro Santa Rosa 2.4GHz 15" (late 2007) with

MacBook Pro i7 (2.4Ghz) 4GB, 750GB HDD with 17" (Late 2011).

We are really happy with it. Now I started all as new. I decided to copy my OLD MacBook Pro manually into my New MacBook Pro... Thanks :apple:

----------

Finally decide to upgrade my old 13" 2008 Macbook to the following:

15" Macbook Pro (Late 2011)
i7 Quad Core 2.5
4GB RAM
Hi-Res Antiglare
With the sweet, sweet dedicated 6770M GPU

I couldn't resist when I found this set up on Apple's official refurb list for ~$500 off the list price of one with similar specs.

Still looking to upgrade though! Now I'm on the hunt for the best SSD to put in (thinking Samsung 830 Series at the moment) and the best way to switch over the included 750GB 5400rpm drive to the optical bay. Any suggestions are welcome!

i7 Quad Core 2.4 right? now 2.5? or you are using custom configuration?

Finally decided to order a refurbished Macbook Pro. Got a good deal (I think) in the Apple refurbished store on a 15" MBP, Quad Core i7, 2.0GHZ, 4GB RAM, 500GB HD, for $1,359. I don't think I'll miss that .4GHZ of CPU power for that price. Looks like new.

MacBook Pro 13" MD313(base model) Cracked glass

Is $600 a good price for a base model late 2011 MacBook Pro 13 inch with a cracked glass. The actual display looks unharmed.

Put my tax return to good use today and picked up a late 2011 13" MBP (un-base model). This is my first foray into Mac territory, having enjoyed iPods, iPhones, and iPads over the years. I'm a pretty casual web-email-itunes-movies user, and based on about 4 hours use so far tonight, this is far and away the best computer I've ever owned. Everything synced properly, I'm loving the trackpad gestures and fullscreen apps, and even though I do fairly normal things with my computer, there seems to be no limit to the number of things I can have running and not notice any drop in performance. Excited about getting to know Lion more and more.

Go on Amazon and upgrade the RAM to 8gb, I recommed the Kingston brand. Only $40. You have too nice of a system to not upgrade the RAM.

Finally Took the plunge!!

I picked up two new Macbook Pro's over the weekend. A 13" MBP base for the wife and I jumped on the 15" MBP AG deal at Microcenter. So far OSX is an interesting change. I still have a custom built Windows 7 PC/gaming rig so I'm covered.

The AG is really nice but I'm not sure about the resolution so far regarding the text size in some of the menus. I read many threads about this on this site and many others. I must say I like the size of text on the 13 much better. Does anyone know if the standard rez 1440x900 looks similar in size to the 13?

After selling my early 2011 13" MBP to my little brother, I realized how much I missed it. I was in the Apple store this weekend to return something else and walked out with a brand new late 2011 13". I got the base model as it suits my needs just fine, but I ordered 8gb RAM from Crucial since I left the previous 8gb i had purchased in the one my brother now uses.

Wow.... My new mbp 15" (base model) with hires AG screen just arrived. What a difference with my old 2007 core2duo. Love it already!

Will upgrade it to 8gb of ram, but the difference is already quite impressive.

Just picked up my Macbook pro from Kinkos (Fedex Office). Booted it up to make sure everything worked then proceeded to upgrade the memory to 8gb and install my 256gb Samsung 830 SSD. Put on the Speck hardshell and also installed the Moshi palm rest and track pad protector.

Currently in the process of installing the OS on the new drive.

Returning to the fold

Finally purchased the late 2011 13' base model MBP tonight. Will be my first time with a refurb, but I've read a lot of good things about them on this site. I agonized over the MBA, but I really need the HD space, and I still like the idea of a superdrive. I hope I made the right choice.

I had a white Macbook (purchased in 08) but it died in late 2010 and I've been stuck with a crappy netbook (and no access to my backup drive since it was formatted on my mac) since. I'm really excited to have access to my files again.

Just in general, I'm excited to be spoiled by the functionality of an Apple product again. I imagine it'll be like using a Mac for the first time. This generation's trackpad will be new to me, and I'll have to get acquainted with Lion.

I haven't used a decent computing system in so long, I might have a seizure when I get my Macbook Pro.

:apple:

(next up, replacing the iphone 4 i lost in 2010, so i can get rid of this inferior blackberry torch)

Waiting for my macbook late 2011, supposed to be delivered today.

I have to complain about ****** service here in France. At AppleStore you can not choose your delivery options as is free, but with UPS and TNT here in France they can show up anytime between 9 and 19. The problem is they do not call you and if you call the customer service they keep telling Apple did not pay for delivery at a given time and they refuse as well to tell the part of the day they are supposed to deliver. So I guess I have to wait from 9.00 to 19.00...maybe later......really bad customer service by apple here in France!

Received my early 2011 15" 2.2 GHz MacBook Pro last week. Had nothing but troubles with Lion, especially with Wifi dropping when waking from sleep

Managed to freshly install Snow Leopard and this has become an awesome upgrade to my early 2009 C2D MacBook. No problems :D
