@squaremon

Hello :). The "HTML5 program" on YouTube has never worked for me either. I use a Safari extension: YouTube5. It works most of the time, sometimes videos won't start (black frame supposedly buffering), but it might be due to my irritatingly slow Wi-Fi :rolleyes:.

Thx roman I'll try that out :D

Wow, I was able to buy the 13" i5 256gb from amazon for $1275 with the 20% kindle code. I was going to buy the i7 because it was just $100 more, but this savings made the i7 not worth it. I appreciate the great info about the i5 in this post.

I did the same thing. I had amazon gift cards and my total was $960 shipped. Only downside is it will be from 4-6 weeks till I receive it. But amazon will probably get it sooner. I think I should receive it in about half that time.

Late 2010: 3h21m
Mid 2011: 3h58m

I expected the 2011 to last a lot longer compared to the 2010, given how easier it is for its CPU to decode this same H.264 video. I don't know how to explain this number.

Easily explained. CPU Usage ≠ Efficiency.

A sandybridge operating at 20% isn't going to use the same power as a C2D operating at 20% so if you have a SB operating at 10% doing the same task that a C2D needs 30% for, that doesn't mean that SB is using 3x less energy. It just means it's using 3x less of it's total processing power to complete the same task.

Sweet! The wait is long, but at that price, I can wait. As you said, hopefully, it'll ship sooner. :)

Exactly. I wouldn't be surprised to see Amazon start sending out shipping notices in the next 10 days or so.

They probably will. Once I ordered a MBP from them. Said one month till I got it three days later I got the shipping notice. I bet it's a long lead time as apple hasn't told them when it will arrive.

OK, thanks. That's what I figured, but I didn't expect that at all.

Wow, $960! In France, we're getting screwed so deep, it's ridiculous. Even with the student discount, my base 13" cost me €1175 w/ taxes, that's $1675 :eek:.

Not only that, but I'm sure their shipping queue totally got shuffled (by people canceling earlier/full price orders), and then repurchasing with the 20% discount.

Also keep in mind that the CPU is not the only power drain as well. It's not even the biggest in normal use.
