It's got to be coming soon.
The Macbook pros are the only apple product (excluding ipods) that do not have an IPS display.
    I'll be waiting.

I think it's referring to the nicer IPS panels rather than the cheaper TN panels. Far better quality, colors, viewing angles, etc.

That article is awful. To call having an IPS display in the iPad as a "disappointing" feature is ridiculous. I don't think not having an IPS display in the Macbook Pros is a battery issue (although it could be part of the decision), it's a cost issue.

It would be cool to have an option so that professionals on the road have a choice. The underrated feature of the iPhone is the viewing angle. I would love to see that in a laptop.

I agree. To be honest, I think we will be getting them soon enough. I mean, it seems to be the direction Apple is moving to.

Hey, who looks for accurate colors and a nice view angle?
It's LED backlid anyways so the whole backlight consumes .0x Watt, for cathode backlights their point of view may be true.

At least they don't proclaim that TFTs in the iPad are bad and Apple needs to implement a CRT screen…

The iPad II. No, it's not a floppy drive, it's Mini-DVD slot-in  Featuring an amazing new CRT technology.

    was that a guess?
    height: 120 * square root (462)
    width: 192 * square root (462)
    ~2579x4127

thats for 16:10 using the iPhone screen size (5cmx8cm), and its resolution (960x640) to compute for (33cmx21cm) for the 15" macbook pro, using x^2(4/5) d/x

    lol

Seriously though, if they release the 430m in the next MBP update, I'd get it day 1.

Companies like Apple are in business to sell things to people. It help profitability to try to sell them what they want.

    Just an FYI.

Well it would piss me off that the $499 iPad has an IPS display, while the macbooks do not.

If it does not in the next refresh, it would make it the only product with a display that doesn't have one (besides the iPods) and that would be pretty rediculous
