Fix the GLARING DEFECT that has plagued the iPhone since DAY ONE: No audible notifications of MISSED CALLS.
The lack of this basic function was inexcusable at the launch of the phone, but eight years later? Really? WTF!

Yeah, I've missed that feature, but faced reality that it's likely not coming given that after 9 versions of the OS it's still not there (despite the fact that it's been there, even if in a somewhat limited fashion, for messages, for quite a while now).
Yes, after several years Apple added it (albeit gimped by a limitation of only 10 repeats)... but only for texts! That's an even bigger WTF, since if someone is calling you rather than texting, it's probably important! And clearly the code is already written, so what possible excuse is there for this? Of course I filed a bug on this years ago, and of course it was marked as a duplicate.
So Apple can't pretend they don't know about it.
I don't think they treat it as a bug as much as a feature request basically.
In some sense it also connects with Do Not Disturb and the fact that they added a way to make exceptions for phone calls (for repeated ones and/or ones from contacts or certain groups of contacts), but after years haven't provided a similar option for messages--so in this case calls get appropriate treatment, but not messages, while in the case of notifications messages do, but not calls.
Given that calls and messages are pretty much the fundamental features of cell phones, even the very basic feature phones support those two functions that are provided by mobile carriers, it seems that both of those features should have similar options available for them.

I know this has been said already, but I just can,t contain my frustration!!
We NEED a truly professional OS that is fully integrated with other professional services; e.g. Google Drive. Trying to open a Pages doc that's on Google a Drive is ridiculous and dooms the iPad Pro as window dressing.
Basically we need OS X on the iPad Pro for the tablet to reach it's full potential. If the Surface can run Lightroom, PS, etc., etc. then so should the iPad Pro.
And add a row of numbers to the keyboard. Apple, don't give us that crap about key/button size. If iPhone users can text a mile a minute on dinky keys, iPad keys can be shrunk by 30% to give us a more encompassing keyboard environment. Currently on the iPad I feel like I'm in primary school using building blocks to spell words!!

1) An automatic dairy of all the system changes I made and the steps I took to make them. Useful six months later when I'm not sure why something has stopped working.
2) A complete list of all the system and Apple loaded apps choices and the ones I choose and didn't. Why present major choices one time, five minutes after I started the new box? Some personal choices don't become apparent until months down the road. Let me go back to the list when I care or after reading a pertinent article.
3) More beeps and boops, i.e. feedback on processes underway. Microsoft is right here and Jony "minimalist" Ives is wrong. Technology still isn't so seamless that I can trust something was silently done.

1. Add an "after dark tint", like the f.Lux app I use on my Laptop.
2. Add "Avoid Tolls" to Apple Maps.
3. All me to remove default Apps: Tips, Watch, Stocks
4. Make the Tips App useful after one use. After I've read through it once, what point does it serve? All it seems to do is to refer me to Apple's website - which I can go to myself
5. Support for Sixaxis (PS3 and 4) controllers. If PlayStation Controllers worked with my iPad, AppleTV and MacBook, it would rival Microsuck's feature of "Xbox controllers work with your PC". Give Mac users a reason to go with Sony rather than Xbox.
6. Ability to "remove the red dot" from Applications wanting to notify me of something.

I wish they keep iOS at 9 with 9.3, 9.4, 9.5 along the way till fall of 2017 is when they unveil iOS 10 with snazzy new UI with dark mode.

For me, there is a huge need for this - especially now with the iPad Pro.
I really miss to be able to scroll up and down on a Word document without reaching forward to touch the screen, the same goes for browsing the web with Safari while having the keyboard connected. After a hard days work I could go on to use the iPad without mouse and keyboard to play games or watch movies. I would really love mouse support.
In the Messages app a visual indicator to show which phone a thread was linked to.
Ie: I frequently text people's work phone and their personal phones and there's no visual way of telling which thread was to their work phone and which to their personal.

SELECTIVE SCREENSHOT, select the part of the screen you want to convert to image!
, maybe even recording screen as a video (possibly selective). Sure you can do this in an additional step with an app, but you do it on OSX in a single step for a reason.
Other ideas:
Siri app kit, so third party apps can use Siri for controlling their apps. I think this would really revolutionize iPhone Apps!
Way to delete keyboard shortcuts (now they keep coming back)
Native swipe keyboard that actually works.

Sounds like just having support for the up and down arrow keys will solve your problem for the most part. Because of this I am still going to stick with my claim that iOS should not support mice or trackpads because it only works well with touch and for some people keyboards.
For a situation like that you can work around that in the meantime by having one contact with the personal number and another with the work number.
yes. make the new iOS stable for older ipads like iPad 2.
Make the calendar continuous in Month mode.

Manual Sync against CardDav simply does not work any more since IOS 9 for me and other users. Scheduled sync seems to be ok, but the "old fashioned" sync by sliding down the "groups" display and having the "wheel" rotate to indicate the sync process when releasing the swiped-down screen, simply is not there any more since IOS 9. Non-Apple CardDav servers seem to not support "groups" of OSX 10.10 and 10.11 nor IOS9. So I would like to see some statement or rather "improvements" with IOS 10...
Also some weird config glitches against non-tweaked OSX-Server 6.8 CardDav Servers show up, like config changes (SSL port, etc.) don't save under IOS 9 config for CardDav accounts, etc. Weird enough: once the servers get tweaked, config changes in IOS work, but manual sync still doesn't.
Kind of similar problems occur with CalDav (Calendar, not Contacts) as long as the server don't get "tweaked". Seems to be related to TLS or something like that, which is not an "option" on the IOS 9 client side (all sub-versions of IOS 9).

Apple should give iMovie HD back to us and allow it to be used on the iPhone.

I'd like to see the ability to disable that stupid shutter sound on the camera. It's a digital camera on a device that wasn't even dreamed of when film cameras had automatic film winders. (the sound it mimics) Auto-Winders were heavy, bulky and HATED by me. They weren't cool.... and how they got stuck as the UNCHANGEABLE default sound for the iPhone camera is certainly a mystery. It wasn't cool then, and it's not cool now!
Currently, the only way to turn it off is flipping the switch to VIBRATE, then I forget to set it back and then I miss a million calls from my wife. 🙁 iPhone's camera is ruining my marriage! LOL Thank you for putting my wife into a bad mood!
Seriously, it's super annoying when trying to take a photo of the sleeping dog, nature, or covert/candid shots of the grandkids etc. And the same goes for many of the system sounds like text sends etc. Every sound should have an OFF-SWITCH associated with it - or - a setting that would MUTE everything except phone calls.

The setting that would mute everything but phone calls can be achieved via DND (Do Not Disturb), although that's more or less similar to using the vibrate/silent switch in the sense of remembering to enable/disable it.
