I've never used a screen protector on any iPad and have had no screen scratches. But I do use a sleeve case when it is in a bag.

So far I am loving the air. Easy thumb typing in portrait and two handed touch typing in landscape. Easy one handed holding in portrait or landscape as well, and I dint feel the need to rest it on something.

Not as easy as the mini of course, but I don't want to give up the input accuracy of the larger display.

Thank you! I just needed that little bit of wisdom from an experienced user.

It blows my Mini away and now I have a bigger screen for movies and games etc.

The weight and bigger size is EASILY tolerable.

What is not to love? And no, I have do not have screen defects! :D

I upgraded from the Mini as well (the mini being my first iPad). Talk about a major step up. The bigger screen makes everything better (reading, typing, web browsing, gaming, watching movies, etc.), and yes, the weight and size are more than tolerable.

I grew weary of the non-Retina screen because it just stuck out to me because I read a lot.

I also do a lot of typing and the software keyboard sees little to no lag now. Bigger screen makes it MUCH easier too. I hated carrying around a physical keyboard for my Mini, but I don't feel the need to with the iAir.

I'm on day 3 of my Air and I still can't put it down. Not a bit of buyer's remorse. It's like a larger mini and the A7 is so fast.

I'm also finding that I'm posting in MR more than ever because I can't put my Air down lol.

I hope a very very long honeymoon, perhaps one that never ends until at least the next gen! :D

Yeah my fear is that the next gen will gave some killer feature that I just have to have. Right now I'm on cloud 9 with this Air.

I like this thread, good change from all the Safari tab reload complainers :D

I disagree. Steve jobs without his team is a mere mortal also. Additionally, most of the gripes i have with iTunes are with the software and not with the design itself..

I agree and disagree. I read the book, so I know what went on there. Steve didn't actually invent by himself, but he had incredible foresight, saw something and instinct fully knew if that was the future or not, then drove his people mercilessly in his strive for perfection. Then pushed more. Even the box the product came in had to be perfect. Without Steve to push and harangue Ivy, John is producing shoddy work. I doubt highly Steve would have been pleased with iOS 7's aesthetics. There are some good features to be sure, but aesthetically it is substandard, an actuall step back. More than a step, rather several strides back

Honest question, but I'd like an objective answer. How is iOS 7 "several strides back"? I mean, there are some design choices that don't make everything all that intuitive, but iOS 7 is practically just a new skin. Using an iOS 6 device, to me, seems "old school" with the attempts to make everything look like a real life object, the shadowing to imitate shine and gloss, etc. I don't see how a six-year-old OS design takes several strides back unless it looked like Windows XP or something.

That's just my opinion. Some people love it. I don't. As I've stated previously, there are several improvements regarding iOS function. Most notably for me is the unlimited folders, I also like the changes in the camera app. And the 7.0.3 update has turned my iPad into a Ferrari. UN believable. What I hate is the aesthetic look. As I have MANY folders, my screen has become very bright, as the background within the folder icon used to be black. Now it's a very bright grey/white. This causes me to go for a dark wallpaper instead of the one that I want to use. I hate the Flat look of the system and icons. The whole look of iOS 7, to me, is more suitable to a 12 year old girls makeup case than it is for me. Just my personal take.

If my iCloud restore would finish I think I'd have some love. God iCloud sucks.

I ended up backing up to iTunes and have all my apps transferred which took a lot of time but much better than getting "connection to server lost" error message when I tried to restore from iCloud. :(

but generally, I really love this iPad Air. It's the best iPad since the iPad 2.

iPad Air is awesome!

I got the T-Mobile model so i'm enjoying free web surfing anywhere I want.

As a user of an iPad 4... I am looking at the iPad Air with greed and envy :)
My personal product cycle forces me to wait for the 7.
