I was on a regular 3-year upgrade cycle since my 3GS purchase in 2009. From there it was the 5, 6S, XS and my current 13 Pro. A three year gap in between upgrades until the 13 Pro, which is in its fifth year (one battery swap). I might be ready to jump ship for the 18 or 19 maybe Pro maybe not. After 5 years this phone does not present to me as long in the tooth, although I’ve not held the current model.

After many androids, I went from the 12pm to 15pm to 17pm. They all 3 felt like very similar phones. I probably didn't need to upgrade at any point, but carrier deals were just so good...

FWIW I am still on my 13 Pro since launch and haven’t seen any compelling reason to upgrade since then. On the other hand, the iPhone Fold may soon present a fresh new opportunity…

I held onto my 12 Pro for a lot of years, until last August when I got an Apple-refurb 15 Pro Max in order to get the 5x telephoto for a vacation. Frankly I don't see a ton of difference beyond that telephoto, and the taller phone overall (which I don't view as a "Plus"). Yeah, it has "Apple Intelligence" but I don't use it MUCH - though I will admit "Remove Distractions" came in handy for some vacation photos.

I'm strongly considering the Fold when it comes out, to replace my iPhone and iPad mini with one device. Depends on the telephoto it offers, mostly.

???

Still using my iPhone 11 Pro Max as my primary phone. Purchased February 2021. Runs iOS 26. Original battery is at 90 percent health.

You guys make it seem like the 13 series is old! 😉

I agree, still on my ipad pro max 13. Subsequent releases just have not been compelling enough for me. But def planning to get the fold.

You might want to rethink this then because from what I have seen regarding the upcoming Ultra (fold) it won't have a telephoto lens. Just a main camera lens and an ultra wide angle lens from what I have seen so far.
