I wish there was better integration with the Airpods on Android phones (Like you can be able to control noise cancellation and just taking advantage of all those features) because the Airpod 3 was the only device I really liked. I really do have a problem with earbuds staying in the ears and I have found I use the Airpod 2 Pros a lot more than the Galaxy Pro 3 when I listen to music. Now if there was an ear bud that was better fitting I would look into it.

Other than that, I was disappointed with this event today. The new phone was ugly (17 Pro) and I do not like that bump. I also can't use the watch since I have a Galaxy watch to match with the Samsung 25 Ultra. I wasn't going to buy a new phone anyway (I just had to buy a new phone in July) but these events do not do anything for me any more. They are boring commercials in long form.

I also don't understand the ultra thin phone. Wouldn't that easily slip out of ones hands mainly because the grip is not as good?

I try to split my time between both GWU and AWU ... Depends what I'm doing and I like AWU for my workouts. I've not used the OnePlus watch much so might be selling it
It's funny, the one thing that I still don't know for sure is if the Galaxy Watch or the Apple Watch is more accurate with steps count. I notice that I end the day with a lot more steps on my Galaxy Watch than I used to with my Apple Watch but I haven't changed any of my routines at all.

I think I'm more comfortable with my Apple watch numbers hahah but no idea really on count accuracy vs each other

I think I'm more comfortable with my dumb watches. I gave away my AWU because the calorie burnt is never equal to the machines. My home elliptical is a cheapo $1000 one from Costco, it would show I burnt 350 Calories, but the AWU shows I burnt 600? Then when I was away and using a $10k Proform elliptical doing my regular 45 minutes, sure enough 350 calories, but the AWU shows 600. Either this thing is not accurate or I'm too dumb to use it, which is why I am just going back to my dumb watches.

I actually thought about starting to go with no watch at all. But my watch tan is so bad right now that I'm going to need winter to even things out.

Honestly I will never see myself not wearing a watch. Dumb watches are also a good conversation starter compared to something like an Apple watch.

"What's up man, hey what watch is that?" "It's a bla bla bla... Ahh cool!"

"What's up man, hey what Apple Watch is that?" "Same one you have on... What a stupid question you just asked, you're weird."

Lol I'm actually starting to feel bad for Apple. They just released new phones today and they are scratching left and right. I don't think I've seen a company with such a bad recent track record of releases whether it be hardware or software.
I guess I am a big odd ball.

I am actually considering an iPhone again. I loved liquid glass back in the day. I still have a lot of nostalgia around OSX tiger. So now Apple is bringing it back sort of and I am all for 3d vs flat GUI.

iPhone 17 has promotion and decent cameras. I don't think I would buy a pro for the first time in years. I like what Apple is doing. I like the phone colors and design.

Samsung on the other hand is going in the opposite direction I like. Google Pixel is great but I have been burned paying top dollar for Google hardware for a while.

So for me Apple is changing things up and giving decent hardware finally across the range.

I tried liquid glass on my son's iPad and the shine wears off quickly. The icons are not well done at all. I got Liquid Glass Color icons on my Z Fold 7 and they look a ton better. I also did think it looked impressive after spending even 20 minutes checking it out, I became bored with it. Combine that with software that is way less intuitive than OneUI....no thanks.

26 is a joke, I guess they want to be so retro that they’re going all the way back to 16-bit color. The banding an all widgets is amateurish compared to OneUI.

I’m loving the 17PM. iOS26 is running much better on it than it was on my 16PM. No lags and stutters at all and the battery life is fantastic. Haven’t got to play with the camera yet but looking forward to trying it out. The blue is not my cup of tea but not bad. I prefer black. When I take back my 16PM for the iPhone upgrade program trade in I also might walk out with a space black Air 😬

I switched to a Huawei Mate XT and absolutely loving it. The only that just saved Apple imo was the iPhone air they just realised which I use as a phone just for calls now.

I got the 17 PM in orange. Loving it so far as well. Battery life has been super impressive. I can almost 2 days with moderate use.
I almost got the Air in black too.....just worried about the battery life and camera.

I’m test driving an Air as it typically won’t be my primary device and have been pleasantly surprised by the battery performance over the past few days. I intentionally used it for my daily smartphone on Saturday, kept it off a charger starting at about 7 am and still had 45% around 10 pm with a typical day of use for me. Can’t recall exactly but think it was around 50-60% last night though I probably didn’t use it as heavily as Sat.

One shortcoming that I’ve bumped up against already is the lack of a macro mode. I have to on occasion look at very tiny print (i.e. serial numbers etched on devices) and use the macro function to assist my old man eyes. Not having it on the Air is a bummer.

I don’t think I could use an Air as my sole smartphone because of the camera limitations but otherwise, I really like everything else about it so far. I was erasing my son’s iPhone 13 Pro Max to turn in for trade-in and it’s like a brick comparatively—70 gram difference.

Also love the 17PM so far, went with Silver. Played with an Air when I was at the store last week for phone pick up. Super impressive device, not for me though.

Live activities really make the iOS experience so much better. I had all my sports activities over the weekend, fantasy football, food delivery, coffee this morning all pop up. And then there's NFL Retro Bowl '26 😂. As much as I love the Fold 7 the lack of live activities on Android really dampens the experience.
