Hi

I've just formatted a new hard drive on my macbook and installed snow leopard. Everything seems to be working fine, but I'm having some troubles updating my iTunes. When I try, I get this message:

"The iTunes update server could not be contacted. Please check your internet connection, or try again later."

My internet connection is fine. I've tried looking this up, but haven't really found any solutions.

Suggestions?

Similar thing happens when I try to access the iTunes store.

Thanks!

Mac

Restart your router, if you're using one, and temporarily turn off any firewall.
Also, are you using software, such as LittleSnitch, that blocks certain connections?

I just did the same thing (new drive / snow leopard) and I am getting the same message. All my other machines can access iTunes store etc.. If anyone has any tips that would be great.

Easy fix,
go to apple.com/support and just download the latest iTunes.. the one that is packaged with snow leopard is no longer supported.. should of tried this before i posted..
