Just try with my wife iphone 3GS (old bootrom) 39 weeks!!
with redsn0w 0.9.6b4 which is untethered jailbreak. since it is factory unlock
no need for unlock.

also I have 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.1 SHSH hashes blobs in cydia
but no SHSH for 4.2b3 & 4.2.1 is it normal ??

Using good keywords, searching by specific site and making sure certain words were near others is what did the trick. I'll admit before doing those three together all I could find was posts related to SHSH's.

I'm sure it'll start showing up as torrents after the tool is released.

I got lucky and TU saved me an iphone4-4.2b3.shsh file.
But I think I'll probably wait for the comex jb.
 
Hmm, Cydia has 4.2b3 saved for my iPhone, but I don't seem to have the IPSW saved to my Mac. I must have deleted it at some point. Oh well, I'll wait for Comex's jailbreak.

Edit: nevermind. Google is my friend.

Damn anyone host it to like mediafire/rapidshare/megaupload/zshare/depositfiles/hotfile/etc? The last thing I want to do is torrent >.>
 
Ok So I have iPhone 2,1 on the latest iOS from Apple. All I want to do now is jailbreak and use mywi. HOW?

But the JB is itself a Beta! So by running the Beta he's running Beta software, though perhaps not running Beta firmware.

General question: If one downloads the 4.2b3 and the updated Redsn0w when the dev team releases it, is that all one needs to do the untethered jailbreak or do we need something more, like having some SSH's saved in Cydia? What if I never installed Cydia or a jailbreak before and want to do this for the time time? Will it work with the two files (redsnow and 4.2b3)?
 
A couple of questions.

Back when I run TU it saved 2 files. xxxxxxxx-iphone4-4.2.1.shsh & xxxxxxx-iphone4-4.2b3.shsh
Those are the so called blobs right? They were both about 60KB in size.
I see from some links given in this thread the file iPhone3,1_4.2_8C5115c_iphone4_Restore.ipsw which is about 625MB

So did I do something wrong back when I run TU or did it also save a .ipsw on my pc in another location?

If I were to use the jailbreak that requires the beta blob, does the 60KB file I saved do the job or do I need to get the .ipsw from the links as well?

Yes, but just the beta kernel to allow for the untethered part.

Sorry I dont mean to be ignorant but what if its not a torrent..?
We have been linking to hard to find semi public ispw's for devs to prep/use the next jailbreak.
