I tried looking through previous posts and can’t seem to find an answer or on YouTube. I know with the standard folio keyboard Apple makes that the keys can chafe and rub up against the display and thereby there have been instances where it scratches the display. I prefer not having a screen protector and have had good luck with not having any scratches because I keep things clean.

so my question is anyone had any issues where the magic keyboard has scratched the display or is it like a MacBook Pro where the keys are recessed and the display is kept in place where it does not rub?

Yup, have the same issue here. I have a screen protector, and after a few days of usage the keys are permanently marked there. I'm searching for something to put in between like a microfibre cloth or so.
