Hi everyone,

since I saw the first time the pictures of Steve's home by Diana Walker I was impressed by his desk lamp.
It has an unusual style that I like very much.

Does anyone know where I can get it or know the producer's name?

You can see it next to his Cinema Display and in his actual biography in the "pictures part" picture No. 9 (Where he is working on his Boston Macworld speech).

I hope someone could help me.
Thank you very much for your help.

Wait, what's that thing that looks like a mini Mac Pro on his desk? And is that actually a Cinema Display? I swear it looks bigger than 30"

Is this the lamp? I honestly cant tell.

TBH I wouldn't be surprised if he had Ive whip something up for him (or have it custom made elsewhere).

I'm quite surprised at how cluttered & trashy the room is.

Perhaps he was a recovering hoarder, that didn't recover :)

Love this picture. It is the one on the inside cover of the biography I think. Not sure about the lamp though. I agree that his workplace was a mess. Especially for someone who was so into the uncluttered, streamlined look.

Is that a 30 inch cinema display? I think this picture was taken in 2004. Was the 30 inch display available then?

Ok, for the moment thanks everyone.
@boss.king It's exactly the lamp i meant.

Maybe it's custom made but i don't hope so.

The little silver box next to the CD is a iomega external harddisk, called ultramax.

He likely mainly used prototypes as his main equipment. Then he could get a feel for it in daily use and if they need to change something.

That's the room of an artist. On the surface it appears a mess, but everything has it's place and that bookshelf actually looks used.

Can anyone make out that black computer box thing next to the little powermac/mac pro? At least it looks like a computer because of the white wires leading out and possibly connected to the giant monitor.

I'd like to have a room like that. Wood floor, stone walls, wood shelves, thick wooden desk. :)

It's a very similar style to the house I grew up in actually. Not too heat efficient in winter, but really nice and cool in summer.

@ComputersaysNo: Thanks for the better view.

It's funny to see, that my thread creates the same reactions like all the other threads about this photo I have read in the last years (especially at macrumors), funny and a bit disappointing.

So here are the answers.
As already mentioned, the little Mac Pro Mini is an iOmega external harddisk and the black box is a Genelec speaker!!
